@PipneyJane - both those suggestions sound delicious, I'll definitely remember them for another day.
I've been off colour for the last week having unwisely been double vaccinated last Friday which I stupidly thought would make life easier. However, the silver lining is that I've spent very little money and have consequently come in well under my budget.
So, I'm declaring my GC total as £78.80/£133.30 which is an average daily spend of £2.54. The surplus of £54.50 will go into the treats fund against Christmas which is very convenient.
The Baking Budget comes to £9.09/£20 + £17.06 bulk fund. I'll add the surplus of £10.91 to the bulk fund to be carried forward to November.8 -
Bless you all for the helpful ideas for the additions to the stew - it was already going to come with dumplings though, my stews always do! The shortage of veg to include was more of an issue than the lack of carbs to be honest - a stew without potatoes is fine if you have plenty of other veg to add instead I think - at that end of the week, we didn’t.We did opt for making last night a takeaway night in the end - it’s early in the month but there you go! Domino’s 50% off deal - delicious and it’ll feed us tonight too so win/win!Not such good news on the GC front though as I blew it at the 11th hour! Today’s spend in T’s was £38.20 leaving us at £209.79/£200 🤦🏻♀️ Just one of those weeks where we needed more “stuff” to make the meals really, combined with the fact that the “stuff” all seems to be getting more expensive! There is bits there which will roll over to next week too. I bought extra sausages because I had an extra points coupon if I spent over £3.50 on them, so that’s a spare pack for the freezer. The bacon will do more than one meal as well, then MrEH informed me that we needed more fillings for lunch rolls… Oh well, this is why we go under some months so pad out the ones where we don’t - it’d be no fun if we nailed it every time, would it!K9’s you’re doing really well!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'm at the end of my month and finally come in under budget again. Definitely helped by only buying what's needed and DD2 not being here loads. Also I bought a new little appliance, that means I'm able to cook bread and bake cakes ( I don't own a cooker). So this will pay for itself soon enough.
Off to the November thread.

Hi
I can't find a November challenge?
I really need your help. Food has now become our biggest bill, more than our mortgage.
There's only 3 of us yet last month I spent £7222 -
You'll need to bookmark it as for some reason it's not staying at the top of the thread - that will make it easier to find next time.
