Sorry if pic is big. No idea how to resize on my phone. This was the O~box large fruit and veg box with figs as an add on. Cost was £23.48 which I feel is good value. Also some of the fruits and vegetables in the box have been impossible to pick up lately in our local stores which has me scratching my head a bit too be honest.
£280.07/£294.50.
£14.43 left.
Should be more than possible. Not getting a delivery from A&C or O~box next week and my OH is going to be away from Friday morning until Tuesday afternoon. While he isn't here I'm going to hunker down inside with pre prepared and easy to make meals.
Not going to declare yet as likely to get items to make sure I'm sorted before he goes on Thursday.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy8 -
I had to do a top-up shop this morning and managed to stick strictly to my list so I'm quite pleased with myself for that. I spent £6.35 in M*rks on 4 x milk, 1kg f/f greek style yoghurt and 1kg frozen petits pois which makes my new total £74.26 and my average daily spend is now £2.97.
I was a bit horrified by the cost of the peas as I'm sure they weren't that much the last time I bought a bag so I'll see if I can unearth the relevant receipt later, just to see what the difference is.10 -
@goldfinches I’m curious to find out how much you paid in Marks yesterday. I was in L!dl last night and saw frozen petit pois at 99p. Didn’t buy any, though. (No space in the freezer.)
While in L!dl, I did manage to spend £8.97; originally £10.97 but we had the £2-off voucher. Took the GC purse and the shopping list with me when I went to work yesterday and popped in on my way home. Finally managed to get a tray of chopped tomatoes, so we’re now fully stocked at home (12 cans at 28p each). Also bought 3 tins of sweetcorn (47p each), rolled oats (still 75p/kg), puff pastry (99p), milk, wraps, YS custard and YS hot-cross-buns.
On Sunday, we spent £2.55 spent on spinach and cookies for a “picnic” lunch. Took along YS sliced meat (from our freezer), some leftover hummus (from earlier in the week), and the last of a packet of wraps.
Takeaway 8p of shrapnel added to the money box, and we’re now at £140.70/£147.60, leaving £6.90 for the remainder of the month.

ETA: L!dl now have Milk Chocolate Oaties back in stock. 65p per pack, when they used to be 45p"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Hello 😀
I’ve completely lost track on what I’ve posted on here as I got a bit distracted with life! However, I’ve got a spreadsheet on my phone that I have religiously kept up to date so my spend so far is £137.05/£150.
This has included some treat items for at home birthday celebrations and ingredients for birthday cakes so I’m really pleased with that.
I have one more birthday meal to do but that will fall into next month’s budget so I’m hoping that might be my total for October.
Going into next month I have a £2 Lidl voucher, a free bakery item and a free W5 item which will help.
Good luck with the month end everyone !
PP xOriginal mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.
Mortgage neutral achieved August 2020 - 7 years early!!!7 -
I am also behind in tracking as I am at family's for a birthday celebration for 5 days so been spending lots on gifts, meals out and the very nice Waitrose pink prosecco - its £8.99 on offer at present - it has a weird fluted neck collar for those who want to try.

I have spent £10 over the weekend on bits
£2.15 on the worst GF YS M&S egg mayo sandwich - like a brick.
Some GF sr flour as I tried my parents breadmaker to make GF bread - had to finish it off in oven but it was fabulous ..
I put my sweets and crisps in my treats and entertainment budget but I have blown that budget cos of family bdays /celebratory meals out but am way under on my grocery so may need a separate pot for my sweets and crisps for next month hmmm or in my 'blow money' pot.
Grocery Oct 22 GC £87.42/145 + 0/£55.30 for bulk
No food at home since Friday so ...
NSD Oct 11/17 to yesterday ... will be impossible to hit goal but lets see - today I am travelling back home but beyond travel costs will try to make it NSD so be 12/17 .. but I am out Thurs eve and a big Halloween party if not two ..
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@PipneyJane - I paid £2 for a 1kg bag of petits pois. How much does the Lidl bag you saw weigh.
In other news Nigella Lawson has linked up with Ocado and as well as writing some recipes that cost £1.25 per portion and use minimal energy to cook there is an offer of up to 30% off a £60 or above spend for your first delivery. Good Morning all, been lurking for a little while as I've not been well, acute laryngitis meant ive not been eating much this week apart from very soft cold stuff.I got medication from my Dr which if I'm honest seems to be working but the side effects aren't pleasant but only a couple more days to take it.
The good part is not been out very much at all so consequently lots of
NSDs
I have still plenty of fresh stuff in the fridge so no need for anymore this month so calling it at my one shop this month.Admittedly I have been away for part of the month as well on a break so only used the shops for one fresh stuff shopping
Very happy though as I have squirelled away some more cash towards the January 'big shop'
We are all keeping a keen eye on prices and cutting back and using up stuff it seems and well done to everyone .There are times when life takes over, and you have to go over a little bit ,but it just makes you more focussed I think on the following months budget
JackieO
26/27 NSD this month, and only £46.29 spent so £13.71 surplus to be tucked away. Quite happy with that6 -

I know I'm not 'officially in the October GC, but in MrL today, the wholemeal loaf I buy had gone up again this week - now 72p a loaf (SEL was still at last week's price of 69p!). Also, when did mushy peas get so expensive??? 35p for a small tin! As were marrowfat! I did buy caged bird eggs today 🙁 but there weren't many eggs in stock, and the 15 mixed weight were £1.49. Because of restrictions, I'm not sure how many 'FR' labelled eggs are now actually laid inside anyway. But normally I would choose FR, or barn. I did get some 20p 'bottom oven baps' and some YS'd wholemeal rolls. I also got some 20p mango pieces from the chiller reduced section. I was quite pleased to find a pack of 4 palmolive soap in the RTC section. They were £1.04 - down from £1.45. I hadn't bought them the other week, as HB was cheaper, but £1.04 trumps HB.
I did consider buying a £1.50 box today, but due to poor boxes lately, I won't buy unless I had a good look to see if we'd use all the contents/it was worth £1.50. But today, whilst several boxes could have provided a bit of variety, the queues were so long in the shop, I couldn't be bothered to go back through and wait in line. I had visited another market town earlier in the week, and there were 3 boxes on offer - I honestly think that the staff were having a laugh. All three boxes had a pineapple, green potatoes, black sprouts and squashed (coz they were loose) raspberries.........
I no longer factor in the MrL boxes, or the waste diversion scheme into my shopping budget, as I refuse to pay money for inedible produce. It's a shame, but I need our food purchases to feed us, not the compost bin.
