I've not seen the Nectar offer either @Soontobeoap.
Another shop in Sainsbugs yesterday but made the mistake of taking DH with me! GC now stands at £119.06/£250! Seems to be going up almost daily at the moment!

Lost track completely here. I'm probably just over my target now - I've been so busy for the last few days I haven't had time to work it out - but there's another weekend shop yet to go in October. It's been mad... people coming & going, plans changing at the last minute because of illness, sudden unavailability of dog sitters, cars not behaving, atrocious weather, obstreperous quinces (don't ask!) sudden requests for the DDs to make posh birthday cake - all sorts of mayhem! I shall go away & try to work out the facts & figures, so we can see how far over I'm going to have gone (and hopefully, why - at least a vague idea) but I may just throw up my hands & admit a terrible defeat for October. That said, life should be a bit calmer this week, meaning fewer last-minute dashes to the supermarket (ok, there was actually only one) better sticking to menu plans, & only two planned "visits" from offspring & partners over mealtimes! That said, DS2, wife & toddler may have to cancel their holiday plans due to sickness (teacher friends) which would mean the odd unscheduled visit from them too, or suddenly needing picnic food, weather permitting - aaargh!
ETA: no, forgot - I'm now totally bust, thanks to an unexpected trip to the wholesalers to try to track down an obscure bit of kit that I know chefs do have a use for. Needless to say, they didn't have it, but they did have a few decent offers on items we use a lot of (butter & cheddar) and one or two things I knew I'd need to top up early next month otherwise (sugar - for preserving & fermenting - olive oil, spices & instant coffee) so I spent £130 on bulk buys - some of which will see us through to the other side of Christmas, but I shouldn't need to go back down there until we're into the New Year now. I think the combined weekly market/supermarket/bakery (because - guests, and no time to bake my own) spend came to just over £70, so I'd have been bust anyway. Sigh!Angie - GC Aug25: £478.51/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10 -
With the exception of milk which I can’t manage without until Monday when we start November, we are done for October. We shopped at Tescow Thursday and picked up our (take away) items for Friday night but also next Friday too as I wasn’t sure when their offer on them was ending and whilst it’s still less than half the cost of a delivery pizza from the well known take out, pub game, it was still £14 of the £35 spent. The rest was basic bits to last well into next week. Onions, mushrooms, squash, fruit, eggs etc. I thought I had enough milk in the freezer but seemingly not.Anyway, I’ll declare tomorrow once I’ve got the milk, but I AM UNDER BUDGET!! For the time time in about 3 months if not longer! WahhooooFollow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Big hugs and sympathy to all those whose spends have shot past their budget totals, it's not your fault. Also congratulations to @MissRikkiC for this month's triumph.
I have two spends to declare which are £3.85 at Sains for bread and YS veggieburgers and £3.25 at M*rks for 4x milk and cherry toms. That makes my this month's GC total £67.91/£133.30 and my average daily spend £3.08.
I finished the frozen berries I eat with yoghurt for breakfast this morning and decided that I'll eat stewed windfall apples instead of buying another bag and see how I get on. It means I don't have to cook and bottle them to be stored or frozen and I haven't got to pay for more fruit just yet so should be both money and effort saving.10 -
Soontobeoap said:@PipneyJane i cant find the nectar offer that you have mentioned online. Was it one that was only sent to certain customers or is it open to all?

Hi all, went to Tesco yesterday as planned, got most things on the list, one thing we didn’t get was carrots as they were all no good. Also got a few extras as had two children with us but I don’t mind as it’s the half term here now. Might just need to get some fruit and salad at the end of the week. £32.39 spent there. This morning I’ve been to the shop and got some more Lucozade and ice lollies for eldest costing £2.65.
Total now £142.86/200 spent.Going to my new favourite shop tomorrow, so will try not to spend the whole amount we have left10 -
I'm up to £149.66/£145. On the plus side, I've defrosted the fridge/freezer.9
