I presume Boilerjuice is competitive in your area. Round here, today, they're 20p/L more expensive that local suppliers.
Yes, my local supplier will not price match BoilerJuice who are normally a few pence per litre cheaper.

Boiler Juice dearer than locals here without fail over quite a few years.

Boilerjuice quote for me this morning was £1.06 for delivery by Christmas, £1.075 for "Express 5" delivery.  My local provider is quoting £0.86 for delivery this week.  Boilerjuice 25% more expensive!

No prizes for guessing who I've placed the order with!   :)
  • Looking for an oil supplier a month or so ago. Boiler Juice quote was cheapest around here. Independent supplier I used previously was 12p per litre dearer.

Usually Boilerjuice are more expensive for me, but today they are offering 75.45 in my area. The lowest I can find from my pool of suppliers is 77.29 for the same volume of fuel. Just shows that it is worth shopping around for each delivery, including checking the likes of Boilerjuice, etc.

Boilerjuice are 75p this morning for us.    What this probably means is that suppliers in our area have excess capacity to sell cheaper via boilerjuice whereas in your area, there is no excess capacity available and the price is higher.

Yes, I'm sure that will be it.  I'm not sure that Boilerjuice has ever managed to match the local companies here.  It may also be partly that there are sufficient barriers to entry and a smaller market, making it not worth the effort for new entrants.  That might also explain why the local price is always that much higher than further south.

Quotes this afternoon for 1000ltrs ex vat:
    Boiler Juice 93.74
    Local oil club 80.95
    Local Certas owned depot 76.03.

Naturally I took the Certas one.... made even sweeter by an additional £42 discount voucher they sent me a couple of months ago with end of year use by date. 🙂👌

Now watch the price plummet 😂

That means your cost per kWh is around £0.07434 which is significantly lower than the current gas cost and well below the current electricity cost so you are already onto a winner!

Yes, a significant factor in sticking with my usual order of 1000ltrs and not chancing 500 now and 500 sometime next year. Even if the price does happen to fall further I'm still quids in (literally) versus gas or electric.
    No complaints here. 👍

Was there much of a difference between the 500 litre and 1,000 litre price?

Surprisingly not with any of the three local depots I called or local oil club where I checked both.

    With BJ, I didn't ask for 500ltrs.

Many years ago when I first had oil there was always a price differential so I stopped checking and have gone for the 1000ltrs since.
