Take a look at Step 4 in the first post of the template defence thread and you'll see that this is correct ;)

Seriously - you don't need to question every single thing - if it's there in a FAQ post then it is almost certainly correct. (The only caveat is the reference to example witness statements - there are better examples now but the FAQ still needs to be updated).

Hi, looking for some help please.

I filed a defence to county court business centre northampton on 4th October with respect to some parking charges that DCB legal were claiming against me.

@Coupon-mad you have been helpful in the past for me with this & hoping i can count on you further. Thanks in advance everyone.  The email received is as below:

Having reviewed the content of your defence, we write to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim.

In due course, the Court will direct both parties to each file a directions questionnaire. In preparation for that, please find attached a copy of the Claimant's, which we confirm has been filed with the Court.

Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 0203 434 0433 within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence.

If you have provided an email address within your Defence, we intend to use it for service of documents (usually in PDF format) hereon in pursuant to PD 6A (4.1)(2)(c). Please advise whether there are any limitations to this (for example, the format in which documents are to be sent and the maximum size of attachments that may be received). Unless you advise otherwise, we will assume not.

What help are you looking for?
    You haven't asked a question.

Why don't you go back to that checklist you were following when you filed a Defence?

I am sure items 7, 8, 9 and 10 on that list answer whatever questions you may have about that email.

The question i'm asking is whether to reply to DCB email or not? If yes, whats the standard reply?

But the point is... you already have that answer.

Re-read item 7 on that checklist you appear to have abandoned.

It's a template email - they almost always say that. (Just search this board for that phone number and you'll find several instances of it). And this is often the precursor to them discontinuing.

    File it but Ignore it.
