They are not charging you “another £92”.They are saying “we think you have used £96.85 from your last £152, but we’re not sure exactly”
It’s just written strangely because they don’t know if it’s £96.12, £96.50, £96.85 or £97.20 yet.0 -
your not unstanding any thing i say at the moment do you all work for eon next or what i am on a fixed tarriff since 29 august 2022 that should not change i am always in CREDIT what dont you understand i should not be getting provisional transactions at any cost charging me £96 a month i spoke to the customer service people and he even said your gas is fixed at 12 p and your electricity is fixed at 52 p you can not tell me am wrong when eon next is telling MEAND you that your fixed for 12 months IT SHOULD not be happenning no matter what you people say and what your trying to say is wrong i am never in debt i am always in credit even in the winter i can show you my smart metre if you want all i have used this year is £405 fixed means fixed as martin lewis says surley you can not argue with him Dolor said:irvo76 said:thanks for your replys but i dont think your understanding what am saying i have a fixed tarrif of which i pay £152 a month i have always been in credit with this they take smart metre readings every month i have all the information in my account this is why am questioning how can they charge me another £96 a month as i live in a 2 bedroom house on my own and work most of the day i dont even use the £152 am paying now i always have credit plus to derwent mailman am not an op and i do understand what you mean but i disagree with it as i think there trying to con people to pay more and should not be paying more as i am always in credit and i only fixed this deal with eon on 29 august 2022 this should stay the same till 2023 has martin lewis all ways explains to us thank you.
Your Fixed tariff is only FIXED in terms of the contract duration; standing charge and unit price. If you use 1000kWh of gas in a given period then the supplier will raise a charge for the gas used. This charge is deducted from your account balance. Similarly, if you use 5000kWh of gas a higher charge will be deducted from your account balance.
The supplier will monitor your actual usage and it may decide to review your £152 month payment. Most customer accounts have a credit balance at this time. This credit balance reduces during the winter when your monthly energy charges will exceed your £152/month payment.
In sum, the supplier is NOT charging you twice. The £96 is the cost of the energy used which will be deducted from the money that you have already paid into your account.thanks for your replys but i dont think your understanding what am saying i have a fixed tarrif of which i pay £152 a month i have always been in credit with this they take smart metre readings every month i have all the information in my account this is why am questioning how can they charge me another £96 a month as i live in a 2 bedroom house on my own and work most of the day i dont even use the £152 am paying now i always have credit plus to derwent mailman am not an op and i do understand what you mean but i disagree with it as i think there trying to con people to pay more and should not be paying more as i am always in credit and i only fixed this deal with eon on 29 august 2022 this should stay the same till 2023 has martin lewis all ways explains to us thank you.

dolor thank you for the comments but your wrong your trying to say its what i spend am telling you i pay 152 a month never gone over that always in credit so thats why am asking where is the extra 96 coming from and peoples bills are fixed just ask martin lewis he explains clearley every time when fixed they mean there fixed for 12 months thats it .0
-
As you've only just started that fix, it's no wonder your monthly cost has increased because it's an expensive tariff. You would have been better not fixing.0
-
plus am fixed for the next 12 months i only renewed it in august 29 2022 so it should be alright till 2023 august that is why i dont understand why there trying to charge more fixed for 12 months means fixed should not change if anything i looked at my smart metre and it only says i have spent 405 on gas and electricity this year i know the standing charge is high but this has got to stop now i should not have a 96 pound on my balance that they say i owe as i have not used this thank you .0

Eon set your monthly payment to £152 for your new fix.In October 2022 Eon will credit your account by £66 and reduce your monthly payment to £86 they will do this for the next 6 months.Because you fixed in August 29 2022 your gas and electric cost per unit will be high.Because of the Energy Price Guarantee you should see the gas and electric rates come down in October 2022 and so your gas and electricity will cost less per unit.Try and use less gas and electricity as this will bring you bill down in price and always check your bill to make sure that Eon have used the correct meter readings.0

Irvo76 - I fear you aren't listening to the advice here.
What is fixed when you take out a fixed-term tariff:
* the unit rates per kwh
* the standing charge
What is not fixed when you take out a fixed-term tariff
* your monthly direct debit
If you use more energy than was estimated when you take out your fixed tariff, your monthly direct debit may increase. If you use less energy, your monthly direct debit may decrease.
Your £152/month direct debit does not buy you as much energy as you want each month - it is not all-you-can-eat.2 -
i know its not all you can eat am telling you am in credit this and every other month i have never been in debit that is what am trying to tell you they have no reason to be charging me more i know how energy bills work thats my point i know if i use more it goes up if i use less it goes its a no brainer but i have not used more thank you.0

@irvo76 I've not contributed to this thread but wonder if there is something that's been missed.
Is there on this bill/statement something that says "this is not a request for payment/ for information only/ your DD is unchanged/............. ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
