So will Octopus keep to their word and start communicating with customers today?

Agreed, but there will be many people happy to be with each of them based on their circumstances, and given that Octopus has favoured the 'less than 42%' group for some time, hopefully the others had moved a while ago as this isn't a new position for them.powerful_Rogue said:MWT said:
They have priced for different markets, EDF is better for those who use above the Ofgem 'typical' night use (42%), Octopus is better for those who use less than 42% at night.powerful_Rogue said:
Was hoping Octopus might drop the night rate a bit more.
True, but it's not exactly easy to move supplier at the moment to fit in with the right market.

Are we supposed to receive emails even if we are on Octopus Fixed tariffs such as Go or Intelligent?0

Later. They're doing Flexible first.vienly said:Are we supposed to receive emails even if we are on Octopus Fixed tariffs such as Go or Intelligent?1 -

I am on Go, and expect to be one of the last to be notified as I expect no change as I am already below October 1 rates.vienly said:Are we supposed to receive emails even if we are on Octopus Fixed tariffs such as Go or Intelligent?1 -
I suspect Tracker and Agile will be the last...Keep_pedalling said:

Yep, even though we have the least certainty - but most likely in large part because they are the most complicated tariffs to sort out, and likely some of the fewest customers on them?MWT said:

[I imagine probably most of us on those tariffs may be in at least slightly better financial positions than many on flexible, though, to have either been able to take the risk of paying moderately above the SVT for longer (at the v2/v3 caps) or take the much higher risk (July then August caps) - or with Agile's original cap, it's basically at the EPG anyway.]0 -
I've just had an email from them today subject titled "Important: Energy prices from October, and what they mean for you."
The key points I got from it were: "From October 1, your unit rates will match, and your standing charges will be 4% cheaper than the Energy Price Guarantee rates. You don't need to do anything – this will be handled automatically."
And: "There's a personalised breakdown attached of the increase, including an outline of what prices would be without the guarantee."
"We'll automatically reduce your October payment by £67 as part of the Energy Bill Support Scheme."
"We'll always offer the best fixed prices we can to our existing customers, but in the current market, those prices are well above the new capped price. With this in mind, we're not currently offering standard fixed term tariffs – they simply don't make much sense right now."
