Thanks for posting those tables but my new rates from October are different to those.
I am Eastern region and at the moment pay by debit card on receipt of bill.
My new rates according to the email from Octopus are:
    Electric Unit        35.757
    Standing Charge 42.66
    Gas Unit              10.476
    Standing Charge 32.167

I'm not quite understanding this at the moment.
DD rates very slightly lower E kWh rates, very slightly higher G kWh rates than MSE show for Eastern and East Midlands as examples which led me to believe tables of KWh rates were flexible rates from 1 October. ( Non DD rates are  Energy Price Guarantee rates not including Octo further reductions)
By 'further reductions' do you mean the 4% discount on standing charge?

    DD rates - yes

Non DD rates do not reflect cheaper Octopus rates than maximum allowed for Non DD setup.
  • So where are we with Octopus, they have now contacted everyone who will be on their flexible tariff from October but not yet worked out the fixed tariffs or the more specialist Go, Tracker, Agile type, etc.

My parents are on price promise and not heard anything yet, not even sure how that fits with the EPG.

Still in the dark here (Tracker)... In fact, we still don't know if, never mind how, Tracker might/will be affected by EPG?

I'll be content if my 11p gas cap doesn't change (I realise those with higher caps might be less sanguine).
Given that Tracker changs every day, I don't see any reason for Octopus to rush out an announcement.

For four days now the Octopus Twitter account has replied that those on fixed tariffs will find out soon how the EPG will effect them. Octopus have a very different definition of soon than I do, at this rate I doubt we'll hear until past October 1st.

Surely a tracker is by definition not a fixed tariff?

They've given the same reply be it an inquiry about Agile, Tracker or Fixed, soon they say and still we hear nothing.

well, coming "soon" can often mean a long time!!

I think everyone just needs to relax and wait to be informed. It will come when the announcement is ready.
If people just "cannot wait" the option to go to flexible/SVT is always there. Otherwise just hang fire, we'll all know soon.

They must already know what they are doing with these tariffs, but for whatever reason are choosing to hold back this information.

Patience is a virtue, but at a certain point, enough is enough.

If EPG wasn't going to be applied to Tracker, then they would 'simply' require to email people to inform them of this, although I imagine they would also have to include the relevant info. for Flexible, so that people would know what they were switching to if the decide to 'ditch' Tracker?
