In my experience, mail redirection takes a few days to set up, possibly 5-7 days. If Starling have already sent the cheque, it probably won’t be caught by the mail redirection.
See if Starling will cancel the current cheque. If they 3ill and do, set up the mail redirection then a few days after that, ask Starling to resend the cheque.
If not, you will have to go door knocking.0 -

I was suggesting that the mail redirection should have been set up when the OP first moved, not now (although your suggestion might be a workable option in the circumstances).

If not, you will have to go door knocking.Asking Starling to stop the cheque, then asking them to resend it to the same address is likely to wave a big red flag in Starling HQ.Why would anyone want to do that as part of their 'normal' banking behaviour? The OP apparently already has issues with a CIFAS marker - messing Starling around with stopping and resending the cheque could well make matters worse. When in a hole, stop digging.9 -

SiliconChip said:Why didn't you set up a mail redirection to your new address when you left the old one? Had you done that then you would at least know that the cheque would turn up where you live now.
I've not used it once, never had a single issue with needing it and have thus saved myself several hundred pounds...0 -

Had you done that then you would at least know that the cheque would turn up where you live now.It wouldn't be obvious in the circumstances where you had an account with a financial institution and hadn't told them your new address though.Personally I'd tell the bank I'd moved and set up a redirection to catch any mail which was sent to the old address during the changeover period.3

Starling won't send a cheque to a address they do not hold on their system. No matter what the OP tries.Life in the slow lane2

They shouldn't get involved in handing cheques/letters to someone they don't know from Adam/Eve.The Agent also shouldn't be bothering the new tenant with your problem. The agent's response to you should have been that you need to sort either a redirection or give all organisiations who might write to you your correct address. You have no right to expect the new tenant to keep letters and effectively act as your unpaid mail handling service - nor should you expect them to help you deceive Starling as to your current place of residence. It is really unfair of you to ask them to do this. It isn't your property/home anymore.9
