Sorry to be a pain has anyone on British gas tariff Exclusive May23v1 had any communication from them on what is happening to their fix, as they said they'd be in touch 3 days left!!0

Not with British Gas but E.on and in the same boat. Took out a "Fixed online V14" and expected to be contacted if should stay on the fixed or cancel it. They have emailed through my new direct debit payment amount from 1st October though 😺Just my opinion, no offence 🐈2

I’ve been with Green Energy U.K. on the Sparkling tariff - took it out in July fixed to sept 2023. We are Economy 7 and almost entirely electric, only using gas for cooking. With the EPG coming in that meant far more attractive night rates elsewhere so we’ve just switched to EDF (our gas supplier) who are about the best for us with our relatively high night use.A couple of tips for anyone else in a similar boat and wanting to switch to EDF
- phone, do NOT try live chat or WhatsApp - they can flannel you far less effectively on the phone. I lost three hours being talked round in circles on WhatsApp this morning including repeated sending of links to “just do it online” when we all know they disabled online switching months ago!
- they WILL try to give you all manner of excuses why you need to call back/they need to call you back at the beginning of the call - an approach of being polite but firm and repeating reasons why I wanted it sorted now got it dealt with, albeit slightly grudgingly
- Their version of variable DD is called “Whole amount monthly” and they may initially tell you it doesn’t exist - but they weaken when you tell them it does… 😆
They also told me that my night rate was going to be zero (no, sadly I suspect it’s not!) that choosing for the switch to go through ASAP meant I’d lose the cooling off period (that was more of an inference in fairness, but again, I don’t think so!) and then told me how much per month my whole amount monthly DD was going to cost me - I have asked for feedback to be sent back about that being misleading - problem enough with folk getting confused with costs right now without EDF making it worse!)
Also - for anyone who’s given meter readings to EDF this morning double check they have gone through - mine hadn’t- she input it manually while I was on the phone.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I was with Green and was switched to Shell when they went bust in October last year. A big hike up moving to Shell and then the Shell increase in April. I only have electricity no gas in the house - coal. I have yet to light the coal fire and have 3/4 of a bunker left over so it will be early December before I order any more coal but electricity changesOff peak was 17.4123 now with cap 17.757 p/kWhPeak was 33.39 now with cap 40.957 p/kWhStanding charge 48.26 now with cap 49.26 p/dayTotal usage per year 3637 peak, 1498 off peakIncrease in cost with cap £284.11Refund from Govt £400Result I have £115.89 in my pocket to cover increased coal costs.(I spent £580 on coal last year - heating my house and winter hot water - how do people run up some of the heating bills I see banded about, are they running around in their swimming trunks all day?)Of course that is Annualised and no idea what will happen in April. But quite surprised about that.0

It's October 1st now and I haven't increased my DD. This is because that sometime in the next 31 days I am expecting the DD to be automatically reduced for me to receive this energy bill grant. I will increase the DD after the energy bill has done their bit. It is the first time my balance is not in credit, and likely to be in debit by the end of the month by just a few £s because they insist on taking my money days, often a whole business week, before they update my account.
I have lost faith in the integrity of the energy bill company(ies) word. I will make sure that energy account(s) are paid, and perhaps back in credit when the energy company(ies) show evidence of some integrity. For years I have had a large of amount of credit and never received the dividends from them using my credit to create their profits, bonuses. In looking at the wider picture's details it seems that greed really is greater than ever. I always pay my way and will continue to do so.0 -

Check your account and you will see the figure they gave you as the next direct debit until you give the reading and the raise a bill.0 -
