Well, I managed to get round Mr T's and bought a duck for sunday roast tomorrow plus presents etc for family (younger brother etc) visiting tomorrow. Get home and find a message on the answerphone - more family (older brother etc) want to visit tomorrow as well. Grrrr that'll teach me to get to Mr T's too early!

Younger brother family is only stopping for tea but elder brother family ended up getting invited to Sunday roast as well (they have further to travel). Had already bought a duck for tomorrow but that won't stretch and I don't have the energy to back to Mr T's so I'll have to freeze the duck and get a large piece beef out of the freezer.

Also hadn't got elder brother family presents so I'll just have to make do I think - boxes of chocs for the kids from the corner shop and some champagne for the parents.

    Ahhhh me! Revised list:
    • S&S
    • Clean bathroom
    • Hoover living room
    • [STRIKE]Wash bed linen [/STRIKE] currently drying on the line and remake my bed
    • [STRIKE]Buy presents for family visiting tomorrow[/STRIKE]
    • Find a bottle of champagne and box of chocs and wrap for extra family visiting tomorrow
    • Wrap presents for family visiting tomorrow
    • Make cakes for tea for family visiting tomorrow
    • Wash utility area floor
    • Wash kitchen floor
    • [STRIKE]Buy some fresh veg (particularly tomatoes)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Contemplate what to cook for dinner tonight and get ingredients out of freezer[/STRIKE] have decided it will be stew in the slow cooker so now need to:
    • Prepare stew and put in slow cooker
    • Put duck just bought in freezer and remove a joint of beef to defrost for a roast tomorrow
    • Collapse in a heap and feel sorry for myself

    Hi

Well I've been a lazy tyke today - didnt wake up until 10 to 10 so have only managed breakfast so far. Have huge sympathy for all those with bugs as I'm on my 3rd one now, had the stinkin cold prior to the big day so was getting over it on 25/26th, then 27th I visit my dear gran (95) and come home and manage to throw up while getting tea so as OH at work DS had to finish it for him and his sister. He packed me of to bed where I spent the next 15 hours. Yesterday was an ok day but this morning I have woken up with a sore throat and a chesty cough. SO I really know how you all feel.

Flying must go on though as I've had a week off and noone has any clean clothes to wear and the house needs a big tidy again.

Not going to make a list it would take all day to write, so off to shower and get on.

Hope you all have a good day.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

My slaves get board and food :rotfl: but are quite a pain when they come in to waking me at some ungodly hour.

Forgot to say that we got some great news yesterday from the grant people about DD's room, they said all paperwork is in and that we should go ahead and get the plans done up and that the building work should start in july and be finished by the end of august:j . Just in time for them all going back to school. Really need to sell all the things in the attic so suppose i better get on with it today.

Soappie i hate when that happens all organized and them everything throw up in the air and you have to rethink things.

    Morning everyone!

Hugs from a distance to everyone who needs or wants one (I've still got the lurgy and have been nursing OH who has flu genuinely). Must pop out soon to pay in some cheques at the bank and buy a few bits of food shopping (I think).

Unfortunately my car is sick too (making a whirring noise when it is idling), and has been booked in for 2nd January - I start my new job teaching on 3rd, so hope they can fix it in a day, and that it won't cost an arm and a leg! Luckily my Mum doesn't start work again til 7th, so she has said that she will take me home etc when it goes in, and will help out if I can't get a courtesy car if it takes longer than a day. Don't think she realises quite how early I'll have to be at work though!

I'm quite chuffed, cos I've just calculated how much I spent this month on food shopping, and I've actually spent less than in November (see sig). :T It may go up a little bit if I buy stuff today, but will be nowhere near the budget I've set. This doesn't however include the food for the cat, cos I can't cut back on that, and I've worked out that he is costing £6.99 a month for his food, which isn't too bad as it's only £1.75/week.

Oh well, time is ticking on, and the banks will probably close in an hour, so I'd best get dressed, fed and out. Bit worried about my car, but needs must - I'm not insured on OH's car, cos it would cost too much as I'm under 25 still.

Will pop in a bit later. Take care everyone!

    sexymouse xx

Sexymouse you have done great on the food shopping:j , each month i say i'm gonna do a budget and stick to it but never do. I'm hoping the new year i'll be able to crack on a good bit with the moneysaving.

Right my wm and td is on and there is now no washing lying in the hall only in the bathroom now:j thank goodness i thought i was never gonna see the floor again.:rotfl:

Right gonna do a half hour challage in the kitchen hopefully it will straighten it out abit.

So glad I did lots of flying yesterday because it's not going to happen today! My head feels like it's stuffed with cotton wool and I keep feeling dizzy. Fed up with blowing my nose. DH says the house stinks of Olbas oil but I can barely smell it.

Anyway, two loads of washing done and finally emptied my laundry basket.

And that's about it apart from cooking and washing up.
