I'm all overcome and am sitting here in floods of tears. (In a nice, sort of sentimental way).
Doorbell just rang and answered it to find a local florist standing there with a beautiful christmas table centre arrangement of a candle surrounded by red carnations and gold leaves and little white flowers and christmas greenery and stuff. It 's for ME! From my nice neighbour saying thank you for everything.
I'm gobsmacked and sort of speechless. Just as well she's out when I just tried to phone - I wouldn't want her to know I'm all weepy.
Think I'd better go and get a cup of tea.
~sniff~
People can be so nice sometimes.

Here, do I cook these sausages before wrapping in bacon, or leave them raw?
Wonder if my turkey crown is thawed enough for me to dissect it?
You have to go to http://www.noradsanta.org/
I just downloaded Google earth so I could keep an eye on him flying the world over, last I checked he was in Japan.
Now, a drink of orange, two paracetamol, and away I go!
Oh, and I need to get milk.
*has a wee tear for Soappie too* That so sweet! It will look lovely on the table tomorrow wont it?0 -
Tiamai my boys have been on Norad all week playing games, then aren't interested today :rotfl: typical.
Soappie, how lovely of them, it's nice to know you are appreciated isn't it. I have had 2 lots of flowers from the guys at the club my partner runs this year as I do quite a bit for them and it always makes me blub, it's all guys who go there, well apart from one who used to be a guy, so they always take the pee out of me when I cry.
Does anyone know any websites where it has pictures on how to bone turkey legs, seen Gordon Ramsay's turkey idea on one of the foodie programmes last night, he removed the legs, boned them then filled them with sausage, rolled them up and wrapped in foil. Looked great but I can't find instructions anywhere on how to remove the bonesOne day I might be more organised...........

tiamai missed the sausage bit, I always leave them raw, wrap then cook but I know someone who cooks them, then wraps and fries them, seems a bit too faffy for me.

Lil_me Do you know how to remove the legs from the bird? Slice the flesh between body and leg, then slice down to the bone. Then pull the leg toward you till the bone pops out of the thigh socket, then cut it off. Neaten it up if need be.
Then, lay the whole leg, meaty part down.
Use a sharp knife, and slice down the length of the bone, I find it helps to slice just to the side of the bone rather than along the top of the bone.
Then use the tip of the knife (I use a paring knife that is small and curved and very very sharp) to gently cut the flesh away from the bone.
The key is to use very sharp, non serrated knives and be very firm.0 -

OK, I am going to do it, I am going to remove the turkey breasts from the bird and stuff em. With... uhm... stuffing mix.... I think.... I'm going to remove them anyway and boil up the carcass for stock. Turkey stock, wonder if it's any good?
I did my little sausages and bacon, woohoo! I'm well excited and scared about my first Christmas dinner, I'm a turkey virgin! :rotfl:0 -
Tia - turkey stock is very strong in flavour. I'm not bothering to make any as I did not find it usefull for anything. I've stopped flicking have your stopped sneezing. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
