Trace debt recovery (NCP)

Hi,
I have read the newbie section and understood as much as I can but wanted to clear a few things up.
My wife received this letter and came as a surprise as we hadn't had any previous correspondence. Upon checking the V5c logbook, the address on it was our old one (we moved a few weeks before the alleged pcn)
I have now updated the logbook.
Because the V5c wasn't updated are we now backed into a corner?
This is my first rodeo so apologies if this has been covered.
Thanks

Hello and welcome.
It's a debt collectors letter. The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread describes exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.
However. your wife does need to advise NCP of her correct address to avoid receiving a County Court Judgment without having had an opportunity to defend herself.
To do that your wife should send a Data Rectification Notice to NCP's Data Protection Officer - email address on their website - instructing them to erase the erroneous data and replace it with the correct detail. Instruct them to advise there agents, e.g. Trace, to do the same.4 -

Because the V5c wasn't updated are we now backed into a corner?Nope. Very common. No paying, not even for an easy life.
Make sure both Trace and NPC are told to erase the old address. Then ignore the drivel unless NCP try a claim. They are not very litigious.
I utterly DETEST the way that DRA scum write: 'were are here to support you' and 'we can help you' and offer a poxy 'payment plan' than wouldn't be needed if they hadn't added an extortionate seventy quid on top of an already extortionate charge, taking it to an eye-watering £170.
Hate the way the Select Committee actually swallowed the phrase 'debt resolution' and asked no questions AT ALL about adding £70 for no reason.
It's the biggest scam attached to the parking industry whose real members (parking firms) would do so much better and see PCNs paid quicker, if they scraped the DRAs and roboclaim bullyboys off their shoes. ParkingEye does pretty well without!
BTW are you in Scotland or not?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

The wording really wound me up. My wife was on the verge of just paying which i stopped.
Just to clarify, do I email trace separately to erase the address?
We live in England
Thanks

Just continue to ignore Trace. They are powerless.
But anyway, Trace have already written to your current address.3 -

Trace are just another one of the fools who latch on to the parking scam ...but they lack any clout as they can do nothing
Maybe they pay their staff on wild promises but ... not in this this stupid game
TRACE are simply a "try on" set up spouting rubbish
BUT ... Trace is just another BPA member who are happy for their members to send out utter trash .....
Once the BPA are culled by government this rubbish will stop2 -
Just a quick update, NPC data team got back to me and will delete my old address and send me all the PCN details within 4 weeks.
Do I just wait for that now?0 -
