Good day at work today, getting to grips with the role (I think) and it seems pretty interesting if a little daunting. I did have some spends today, needed fuel, and I had to pay for a bit of parking at work while I wait for my permit to come through. Hopefully it won't be long, will be getting the train as much as I can but some car use is unavoidable. Also made a charity donation today. No workouts as I'm still feeling ill and not up to it but hopefully on the up.7

Grateful for a 5 day work week. For bike to work and a lovely evening swim, a very likely new Friday evening activity. FOR slowly climbing out of my late summer income dip, so far mostly unscathed. For a group zoom chat tonight and for a 3 day weekend(apologies Royalists). I just reallllly want to go kayaking on Monday!

NSD 7/15 as of yesterday but today is grocery delivery day.DS has been unwell again with another chesty cough. Kept him off school Thursday and Friday. Thankfully he didn’t cough all through last night so I’m hoping that’s the worst of it lifted.I’ve felt messy in mind, body, and house for the last few days. Can’t pinpoint the cause… maybe darker days, unhealthy eating, broken sleep…? I’m not sure. It’ll pass.Yesterday I started a deep clean of the kitchen and it raised my mood a bit. DS and I also worked our way through his toy box and pile of games deciding what should stay and what should go to a new home. I’m quite pleased at how much stuff is going to the CS. And I’m sure someone will be happy for the bargains esp with sprout day on the horizon.OH and DS are going to a football match today so I’ve got a pile of time to twirl and swirl around. OH says I should forget the housework and go do something. Will see where the day goes.Have a nice day turtles xNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸6

My PIP letter arrived. They've awarded it for 'daily living' but not for mobility (apparently I've not been falling enough). Going to ask for mandatory reconsideration (after that it's an appeal). They've made lots of assumptions based on passing remarks - I mentioned gardening so apparently my fine motor control is okay. I drop pills and other things all the time and have to ask DS3 to turn the gas taps if I want to use the stove. Oh and I can use a laptop - no matter that I spend half my time taking out all the letters where I hit the one next to the intended one or between two keys so both letters appeared. I don't fall more because I grab onto something and stand still until the world rights itself again or avoid going out of the house (and I'm holding onto pieces of furniture and dorfraames to gte myself around the house).
Rant over, it's just one more thing to sort out. I just need to not give in to the feeling of drowning under the 'to dos' and just keep pplodding - progress is progress.
Other than that I had a good day, things are taking shape and I finally found my this year's diary - last used on the 15th June. I had to buy a replacement but this one has been used since the beginning of the year and has everyone's phone numbers in and some accounting bits and loads of other stuff.
Grateful for finding the diary, getting PIP (the battle continues), a lovely day (I actually got as far as the library, to get more books aincluding a number of craft ones - just for simple templates until I get the printer working). My felt arrived and I love it - I'm saving getting it out of the packets and stroking it until I've finished sorting the room (very nearly there and I've gathereed important paperwork but waiting until I have clear space to put it in sectiopns). Think I'm going too do the accounts next - it will calm me and end the anxiety of having small receipts floating around and possibly being thrown out. I also managed to fit in part of a heritage activity as the library has old photographs on display - not just the ones that have been put into books but more modern ones like the bus station before it was modernised - just open pre-cast concrete shelters next to poles with the bus numbers on.6 -
Morning turtles,
Had a spend day yesterday and crawled into bed a 5 pm, to watch tellly. One of the most intense weeks at work i have ever had. Very productive but intense. Not since getting in my Doctoral Thesis have I experienced that.
Of to Margate today for a day trip.
Grateful for: all home cooked food yesterday, blankets, and feeling the slight nip in the air.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning,
Yesterday's update;
Gratitude - Today is day 10 without alcohol. Still feeling the benefits so very grateful for that. Grateful for spending time with my lovely sister last night. Haven't seen her for a while as she's had covid. Grateful for the sun this morning, despite the nip in the air.
NSDs/ Pausing before purchasing still on 6/10 NSDs as yesterday was shopping day. Need to get a few bits that Aldi didn't have too, so it'll be another spend day today.
Yoga/Meditation Not done either yet again, but I am at yoga later this morning. I've also walked the dog for 40 mins this morning.
Eating and drinking 2L again yesterday. I'm feeling ready to tackle the food side of things now. Focussing on eating loads of fruit and veg and cutting out the sugar.

"Make a soup". I love making soup. All that chopping and stirring is so therapeutic.
Sorry to hear your PIP battle is still ongoing, Grandmanerd. The rules just seem to be generalized and not targeted to the individual. You're a very determined person who ties to find a way to do things even though they're difficult for you and they don't seem to take that into consideration. Hope you get it all sorted out.
Well, we're still here. I can't believe that's a whole week gone already. It's so peaceful.
The boy is trying to decide if he'll go home today. I think he'd quite like to stay for another couple of days but says he doesn't like to impose on our holiday. Like we care! It's lovely to have him here. So, they're both still in bed and I'm enjoying a leisurely breakfast. Banana on wholemeal toast with strong black coffee. I'm sure it's good for me.
Have a good weekend.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Morning turtles
in total agreement about the pumpkins grandmanerd. Also I hope you get the PIP sorted soon.
There was a complete miscommunication between me and bestie… she is not arriving until Wednesday, so I unexpectedly have a weekend to myself. Will go see some friends for lunch today instead.
MPs, meditation and breath work done this am. Also 15min of skipping, 20 mins of yoga and 10 mins of stretching. No booze last night but it was easy as I was home alone. Had a driving lesson yesterday (already have licence but need practice) the instructor told me he thinks I’m still too nervous to go on the motorways… well I have hired a car for next month in Mallorca so I will have to! but I know it is easier driving there than in the centre of Madrid so hope I will be OK.
Still on NSD 7. Just did a mid-month check of budgets and I am all on track. I expect next weekend to be spenny but will try to keep it to a minimum. My monthly travel card for the metro only cost me €27 as there is a government subsidy until the end of the year (it’s usually €55) . Out of curiosity I looked up what a monthly travel card in London for zones 1-3 (where I used to live) is now and it is £173.60. You couldn’t even travel for 3 days in London on what my monthly travel card costs me here!!
Grateful for it being the weekend, for being within budget so far, for boiled eggs and soldiers (how old are we), and for yoga with adriene (another fan here)
