Today I am grateful for lunch out with dh, for dc going happily to school, for swallowing a couple of frogs, for the phlox having a second burst of flowers, for my home.

Morning turtles
I am very much enjoying the canal boat trip thank you Grandma nerd!
Yesterday was a strange day. I hadn’t slept well which just made everything feel more difficult… but I am much more rested today.
Still on NSD 7, bf did a top up shop yest €20 then and then we bought a cheap pizza takeaway (picked up from pizza place) for tea €6. Meditation, MPS and a gym session at lunch done. Brek and lunch from stores.
Bf is off to Mallorca this morning for a stag do… rather him than me. I am awaiting the arrival of one of my besties today on a flight from UK.
Grateful for friday feelings, for more or less managing sticking to our meal plan until last night, for coffee.
Wishing you a lovely weekend turtles if I don’t manage to post.. I will be impressed with myself if I manage to dodge the booze (or drinking too much, at least) xxx

I just remembered some advice from Andy Ramage (think of one year no beer) saying that when you go out with friends who are drinking, it helps to have a strategy. Plan what you will drink - something non alcoholic if that’s what you want to do, or a reduced amount of alcohol - but plan what you will do if your chosen drinks are not available... so that’s what I’m going to doStudent loan £5655

Morning,
Yesterday's update;
Gratitude - Today is day 9 without alcohol. Still feeling the benefits so very grateful for that. Also grateful for the ability to work from home and yoga! Love my yoga!
NSDs/ Pausing before purchasing still on 6/10 NSDs as we'd run out of bread and milk. Finishing the week on grocery spends of £136.51/£150. Its a blooming miracle! Not hitting Tesco mid week has made such a difference! GC for September takes us to £339.19/£750. So chuffed with that!
Yoga/Meditation Not done either yet. Did another hour of yoga at the gym, which was just lovely last night. Got up late this morning as DD2 was ill in the night, so everything has been a bit of a rush this morning.
Eating and drinking still just focussing on drinking 2L of water a day - 2L yesterday!
Huge thanks to @grandmanerd for rearranging my focus areas. I've felt so much more positive since then and I'm definitely more in control and going in the right direction.

Planning & Preparation - Stuck to shopping list but still over budget by £12. Will have to rethink October grocery budget.Think about spends - Really careful what we are buying, but prices are ridiculous!
Eat to nourish - Healthy day.Mindfulness - Taking time over things is good for me.
Be kind - Offered to look after friends ds whilst parents had to do an airport run.Exercise - Achieved my step target but only because I traipsed around 2 supermarkets!

Leaving Patricroft we run alongside Barton Road (think it's higher than we are) and then the aqueduct across Manchester Ship canal (it's a bit bigger than our canal) then moving away from the road as it heads to a complicated junction and passing behind the Trafford Centre (okay if you've never been and want to, I'll let you go, but it's fairly boring now, not as good as when it first opened). The food court is worth a visit (take your own butties) - the roof changes through a day in one hour (so sunrise, bright sunshine then nightime fallls). We often went to the cinema there (suggested by another mother when I was hosting a birthday party, as you don't have any roads to cross once you get off the bus).
We continue parallel to Barton Dock Road around the back of Trafford Park to Taylor's Bridge where we take a sharp left turn (N then E) and proceed in a shallow semi circle around the freightliner terminal Culminating at MUFC (Old Trafford). I think polly might insist we stop here. I've done the tour and stood on the ground (for free - I've also been in the director's boxes because I'd taken DS3 to my meeting and that's where they put the creche). I've also stood on the pitch at Murrayfield. If cricket is your game Lancashire CC Ground (Old Trafford) is roughly S along Sir Matt Busby Way and then Warwick Road.
To the north (there will be buses, trains and trams) is Salford Quays with the Lowry Gallery (and separate hotel), posh flats, eateries and home to media City. Our next leg will take us alongside the ship canal but I may be back later with details on some of the 34 Manchester Heritage Week events.

My ex-driving instructor made me drive around that roundabout in rush hour about a million times, it rarely has less than 6 lanes to choose from, and most exits lead on to other roundabouts within 10 meters. I am still a little roundabout-traumatised. He was a twit.Just dropped DH off at the train station, he is off to a conference all weekend. The weather forecast is good for the weekend so the washer is going full throttle and the line is ready and waiting for the incoming, outgoing, load. The Trafford Centre is absolutely brilliant when you are really suffering with hayfever. All those fountains wash the pollen out of the air and the air conditioning sorts the rest. The shiny floors are great for knee slides too. You can go for miles (slight exageration), my boys loved it.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
