Venerus v Avis - Is This a Scam?

I emailed them a couple of weeks ago asking for an update.  Have heard nothing back.  Not sure how bad a sign that is!

Follow up to my previous - a reply arrived today

Thank you for contacting the Venerus, et. al. v. Avis Budget Settlement Administrator.

The Settlement was approved by the Court. Claims processing has been completed and all deadlines to cure deficiencies have passed. Distribution will begin in Summer 2023. Please be patient and check the website for updates.

It seems the doubters were wrong. Looks like payouts will start Summer 2023. Luckily we hired 3 cars in that period so probably get couple of hundred $.

Just got an email from them to confirm my payment details.  Yay!

I got the same email and filled it in . I went to the original site from first email. Doesn’t say how much it is so looks like it will be a surprise

I think it was an average of $80 per claim?  I'm probably wrong but that was fixed in my mind.

Had 2 emails this afternoon with instructions how to receive payment. Lucky I saw these posts as the emails had gone into Junk and I normally just delete them. I thought the best payment method would be PayPal.
it looks like payments start at the beginning of August.
it might not be a fortune but it’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.......

had an email today too about payment details, i picked paypal too, i don't care how much it is, its still money i may get back for doing nothing but replying to some emails

I actually hired 3 cars in that period .2009, 2010 and 2011. I’ve had 2 come through, just waiting for the third.

As far as the actual payout it will all depend on how many made a claim and how much was in the pot. A lot of people thought it was a scam and didn’t go ahead. Once the January deadline went that was it. That will mean more for the ones that claimed. 
If only 10 people claimed and the pot was 10 million $ then everyone would in theory get 1 million $.   Happy days...Probably doesn’t work like that though.Lol.
