Budget Air Non-Repayment of Refund

I have been waiting for a refund from Budget Air for the last 3 years despite them being fully refunded by American Airlines. I email them on a daily basis as they do not have a customer services telephone number. They have done everything in their power not to refund me by using every excuse in the book. I have now received excuses from 10 different customer service advisers who tell me the issue is being dealt with by either their finance department or special team…this situation is now affecting my mental and emotional health as it seems that they are not listening to me and seems that I have nowhere or no one to turn to for advice…if anyone out there could help, I would be eternally grateful.

Why have you left it 3 years and not taken them to Court?0

If you have some evidence that AA have refunded BudgetAir and BudgetAir have not then refunded you the ticket costs minus any admin fee covered within their T&C's then I would have suggested approaching your payment card provider for a chargeback or S75 claim. I however fear you have left this rather late. Why have you waited 3 years - or is that a slight exaggeration (as that would pre-date covid).0

I have provided Budget Air evidence that American Airlines have fully refunded them on 3 separate occasions as requested. They then told me to provide my payment details on 3 separate occasions that I also provided. Each occasion I was informed that they had made the refund to by bank. I checked with my bank who informed me that this was not the case. I asked my bank to help with this issue but they refused…that’s why I have now posted on here for advice as I’m now at a loose end with nowhere to turn1

Did you pay with a debit or a credit card?0

Is your original payment card still valid and does the information differ from what you have recently provided BudgetAir?
I have seen a few people post over the past few covid years about not getting refunds. It often seems to be when people had closed old bank accounts/old credit cards, or had changed details. The refunds them seem to sit in a suspense account at the financial institution.1 -
I paid with a credit card account that is no longer in use. I explained this to them for which they informed me to provide account details of my current bank account in order for them to process the refund that they had received from American Airlines. They then stated that they had not received any refund from American Airlines and that I was to contact them requesting this which I duly did. Having received email confirmation from American Airlines had done this 8 months ago, I sent the confirmation email to Budget Air. I was then told that this was being processed by their finance company and was to wait 14 days. I then contacted them after 14 days to be then asked to provide my bank account details for them to process the refund…this has now happened on 2 further occasions…the penny has now dropped that they do not want to pay me the £1200 that they owe me, hence I have joined this forum for advice what to do.1

I have now just received this:Thank you for contacting us.
This email is to confirm that your refund for your booking has been successfully processed on 23rd Aug 2022. Therefore, you will receive it in the next 5-10 working days to be reflected in your account.
Please bear in mind that it depends on your bank or credit card company when you receive the money back into your account. We can’t influence their part of the refund process.
For further information, please contact your bank.
Kind regards,
BudgetAir Customer Service
MeeraI keep the forum posted with the result but I’m not very optimistic considering I received exactly the same email last month stating that payment had been processed on the 23rd July…2 -
I will then check on the 11th day expecting payment only to be told to check with my bank…I then check with my bank as directed only to be told that no transfer has been made or pending and to contact Budget Air…and so it goes on and on…1
