RWG top up?

Thanks Savergrant. That's helpful.
I don't use data.
Calls and texts are inconsistent as you describe, about £3 a month with 3 - but I don't want to be pfaffing about with checking and remembering. So maybe I should look again.
Find a small priced bundle that tops up automatically though that hasn't materiaised yet.
It looked like 1p did a year for£30 or so but then I read that's not all it seems upfront.
Goodness knows why it's all so complicated.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The £36 "Talker 1-year" deal? What seems to be the problem with it?twopenny said:

Well Savergrant talked about 'rounding up' which sounds extra.
But maybe my low usage......
I like the idea of a one off payment so I can forget about it and deal with straightening up other wonky problems post pandemic.
Honestly I'm all at sea trying to interpret all the terminology and rules and don't want to fall victim to something missed and have more to sort out.

@savergrant may be thinking of the change for 1p customers who joined before 1 Jan 21twopenny said:Well Savergrant talked about 'rounding up' which sounds extra.

Doesn't apply to later or new joiners (yet).
Unfortunately the plethora of choices, rules, terms, tariffs, companies etc is the price(!) to be paid for a dynamic and free market. Think sometimes is was better (certainly easier) when you only had the GPO to deal with for telephones.1 -

I wish tariffs could be more flexible. For example, with RWG's £15 bundle I would happily exchange almost all of the 100 texts for more call minutes and/or more data. I rarely use more than 10 texts a year.

Yes, was a bit annoyed when I saw the balance being deducted after purchasing the sim with a topup on the basis that I could spend the balance unevenly through the year (think when you topup you should be guaranteed that price). My point is they did it once, but then it only applied to people who had already topped up as they quickly scrapped it for new sales!flaneurs_lobster said:

So since then I have practised MINIMUM top ups only. Fair play to asda they have now come through with gift cards after changing their pricing structure.
I am reserving judgement on rwg, but think it's worth the risk of £35 for the three of us. Afaik people who were on the original free offer from them are not being forced to topup now.1 -
This is indeed true, 2 sims both working well.savergrant said:Afaik people who were on the original free offer from them are not being forced to topup now.1 -
There is some confusion over rwg as their original offer seems to have been 50 combined texts/minutes, but it definitely seems now to be 50 + 50 (£5 offer) or 100 + 100 (£15 offer). I say definitely seems because the bundle balance checker is going down separately but not got to 50 combined yet to see whether credit balance starts to take a hit.Geoff_W said:I wish tariffs could be more flexible. Sorry, meant to say 200 mins + texts combined would be nice, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If you need more than 100 mins a month it is 5p a minute; or pay £3.50 for unlimited. Or try your luck with 1o mobile for £36 upfront (and hope they don't change the offer once they have got your money!)1
