Thanks for that LouBlue, I was a bit worried you were going to send me pictures of Gene Wilder, or even worse, Grandpa Joe! :rotfl:
Jem8472 haven't heard from you for a while, have you got something to show us? Sorry, that sounds a bit rude! but didn't you say you were going to make some eggs last weekend?
I think I'll do a trial this week, I want to see if I can do the 'joiny-joiny' technique - and if not, come Easter everybody will be getting halves filled with choccie shapes!...
No, I wasn't going to send you Grandpa Joe pictures....:rotfl:
Yes - joiny joiny - need to practise that too.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
Well, I managed to pull off a rather splendid charity event today!!
As you may remember, said that I was doing a big bake sale in aid of Sport Relief today. After 4 days (!!!?!??!) of cooking and melting chocolate forever, these are some of the spoils -
lots of gingerbread men!! there were twice this many, did little easter chicks and rabbits too
my little bags of chocolates, all inspired by this thread!!
all the chocs I did, about 50 in total!!
I also made cornflake buns and rice crispie buns, plus biscuits, chocolate and plain buns as well.
The running total at the moment is .................. wait for it .............:j :j £110 :j :j
which beats last years total hands down by £40!! To say I am chuffed would be an understatement!!!! :TYou're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0 -
Well done - fantastic effort! :TA cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0

Nice one Jems! Now explain, in easy terms...for me and QS...how you joined them together.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0

Well I did that with a pastry brush and melted chocolate. But when I join the others that I am going to make, I will use something like a cocktail stick to spread some melted chocolate around the rim of the egg.
I found with a pastry brush melted chocolate went all over the sides so on closer inspection it is a little messy.
I would think that the thicker the chocolate egg the easier it will be to join.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -

How about using a childs paint brush or a lipstick brush?
Have to say this thread is great, it's my first post on here but you've all made such lovely things, my dd (7) has decided she wants to make choccies for relatives for Easter, because of this thread, so today I've bought loads of bits and pieces from Tesco and managed to get 2 ice cube trays for 25p each (the long green silicone ones if anybody's interested), got some nuts, marshmallows and 'Nice' biscuits to crush up and cover in choc - wish me luck we could be in for a long, messy night0 -

Hiya Bright-Idea and welcome to this thread - had fun tonight?Look forward to seeing any photos... I find my little boys love to 'help' - especially when it comes to licking bowls & spoons, etc. - they have to beat me to it first though!
