You could but try but I don't think it would work because according to 'the standard instructions' on melting chocolate you must'nt get any water in the chocolate (for example when doing the bain marie (pan over saucepan) technique. Not quite sure the reason, but I'm sure someone will enlighten us (Jem8472?).... By using ice in the mould you would be mixing choccie with water. This could cause the same problem (whatever it is!...)

Well water causes chocolate to seize. but when poured into a mold I dont think that would do much to the chocolate. But I dont know what it will be like to get the chcolate out and the ice off the chocolate.
    But hey worth a try

Thanks jem8472, I knew I could rely on you ;) What does 'seize' mean though (in relation to chocolate)?

(Sorry not been around quite so much these days, my home computer has died and I have had to rely on day time trips out to wi-fi cafes and pubs:eek: :D )

if you put some water into melted chocolate it seizes up, just lumps together and melds into one big blob.

Has anyone seen any silicone moulds for mini easter sweets eg rabbits or eggs as I want to try melting boiled sweets and putting them in silicone moulds for a nephew of mine who can't eat chocolate. I got the idea after remembering melting boiled sweets to make stained glass window biscuits a couple of years ago.:)

Haven't seen any but I will check Tesco today as they had the heart shaped ones in their Valentine display, sounds a good idea.

All it seems to be from the first epi is about 10 mins of his family and a bit of other stuff followed by him cooking with chocolate then adverts. repeat.

I will watch the next one on sunday but I was very unimpressed with it.

I've just read this thread from beginning to end! Wow! You're all so clever :T My mum used to have (probably still has actually) an easter egg mould set. I think it was a freebie from the cooking chocolate wrappers.....30 years ago! I can vaguely remember making eggs with them as a kid.

I thought you might all like the "pimp that snack" website as I'm sure they have lots of relevant 'choc' info on there.
Here's a "Pimped" creme egg someone has made:

Click here to see how they did it
They actually hand painted the "pimped" foil wrapper too!
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j
