Hi all, have been reading this thread for a while now and they all look so good. Have a quick question how much chocolate do you need, I bought one of the silicone heart moulds from Tesco and was wondering how much chocolate i would need to make them. Thanks in advance.recent wins-3 x anchor, a bag of skittles, 50 spud shillings, A tassimo mug :T0

So! The pictures did shrink after all, good. (For those of you that didn't know they were a lot bigger earlier).Wow the chocs look great. What sort of choc did you use? I am going to try a bar of dairy milk next and see what that come out like.
Did you temper the chocolate?
The last lot I did was with Dairy Milk and they turned out fine. For this batch I used Thorntons chocolate chips made for chocolate fountains (someone on another thread recommended it as being of really good quality). But of course it turned out very runny (as it was for fountains) so I had to grate in some Tesco cooking chocolate to thicken it up. (Oops!) It worked (luckily!) though and still tasted good!
Because I use an electric Chocolate Treat Maker it sees to the temperature, but it does take half an hour. It then keeps the chocolate warm so you can put it in the moulds at your leisure. There's a similar looking model of chocolate maker on the website people were recommending earlier where they got the 3for2 moulds, I believe it is £20 there.
Valentines Day and Easter are really testing times for people watching their weight, there's just so much more chocolate around everywhere! (Sigh!)I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -

Can't keep quiet for long (just ask my OH!)...
Even though I have one, I don't think its particularly necessary to have a Chocolate Heater/Treat Maker to make successful chocolate shapes - many people on this thread have made delicious looking chocolates using the bowl & saucepan or 'ping' microwave method.
But if you still really want one, the best advice would be to shop around, because as I said before, mine cost £14 and it looks exactly like the one I mentioned earlier that costs £20.
Anybody else made any chocolates today/tonight?...I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0
