You can do the same thing if you just put a metal baking tray on top of a cooker hob for a few minutes...just be careful cause it gets really hot! lol

I'm just waiting for my rasberry heart icecubes to finish freezing before I whip my heart icecube tray into use with the chocolate!
Was thinking white chocolate with desicated coconut would go very nicely in there... mmmm yummy!

Thank you very much qwiksave. I got the moulds from here

A kind lady showed a link for them - sorry I don't remember your name.
They were very good and fast delivery. I couldn't get the silicone heart moulds anywhere.

I saw a french chap on youtube put two halves of a monkey together, he heated a metal chopping board with a blowtorch layed both halves flat side down on to metal board and moved them around a little bit so the flat side just melted a little bit it acted like glue and it just stuck together. You'll see in my other thread I'm no masterchef and I don't think I should be let loose with a blowtorch so I wasn't brave enough. LOL

Thanks for the link for that chocolate/cake site, lovely items on there.

Regarding joining the two halves info I think you missed out a vital word there! Chocolate. It was a chocolate monkey wasn't it? Sounds a bit painful without that vital word! ;)

I wouldn't let myself loose with a blowtorch as I'm not a cook either (apart from chocolate :D , cakes :D and biscuits :D )...

:rotfl: Yep it was chocolate monkey. He looked to good to eat though. He'd got dark chocolate dungarees on and dark choc eyes nose and mouth. The rest was all scrummy milk choc. Wellllll! I think I could just take a little bite.

WOW - made the chilli chocs today wow they are scrummy I put a sprinkle of chilli flakes in the bottom of the mold then added Tesco Dark Chocolate let them set (which seemed to take forever) and they are better than the hotel chocolate ones!! WARNING don't put to many chilli flakes in as my nose is now running!
The only probelm is the mold I used left a plasticy taste to the chocs? they were the square tesco ice molds £1 I have also got the heart ones so i'll try those with the kids at the weekend! should I put them through the dishwasher, even though they say not to?

i have been watching this post for a couple of weeks now and i must say i'm well impressed with all the tips and things made.

i wanted to say about joining the 2 halves of the hearts together, why not melt some more chocolate and spread it on one half and then put the heart together! its worth a try. hth

They'll be with all the other jars of herbs and spices.

If you have an Aldi or Lidl near you they sell them too & are really cheap.

    Everyones chocs look fab.

I just need to find a man to make some for now laughing-smiley-014.gif

  • also if anyone is looking for some way to display them, then if you use this link http://www.polybags.co.uk/index.htm?main=fm_samp.htm i found in freebies forum, then look in presentation/retail section you might find some there! i got product code CANDYR from the candy sweet bags section. I have received these now and think they will be good to use to display my chocolates i make! Sorry for going on, just get excited about making things lol.
