WOW - made the chilli chocs today wow they are scrummy I put a sprinkle of chilli flakes in the bottom of the mold then added Tesco Dark Chocolate let them set (which seemed to take forever) and they are better than the hotel chocolate ones!! WARNING don't put to many chilli flakes in as my nose is now running!
The only probelm is the mold I used left a plasticy taste to the chocs? they were the square tesco ice molds £1 I have also got the heart ones so i'll try those with the kids at the weekend! should I put them through the dishwasher, even though they say not to?

Somehow I think you might be the only one who needs to heed that warning. :D

  • Chilli chocolate is lovely,, a proper cup of hot choc with a sprinkle of chilli is delicious. Hotel Chocolate sell a jar of liquid chocolate with chilli in it and all you do is melt four teaspoons into a cup of hot milk...mmm!

am making some heart chocs for OH for valentines. He loves chilli so am thinking of making these. Do they make the mould taste afterwards? He is the only one who likes chilli so wouldn't be able to reuse them if it did:rotfl:

    Hi bunbun2

I mixed the choc and the flakes together, as it is silicone I don't think it would leave a taste.

The only "funny" taste I got was the plasticy taste from the mold?

I'm going to make some of these for my mum for mothers day as it was her that introduced me to the taste!!

Has anyone got any ideas if the silicon molds are ok to put through the dishwasher??

I'm sure once its washed out it will be fine.

We washed ours through with hot soapy water a couple of times and didn't get any taste at all from the rubber.

I hope lots of you are going to post your valentines choccy pics.
