I would ask for a SAR and a copy of the VRN's for that day over the time period. There has been issues with the ANPR and issues with payments being accepted and then declined much later. No tickets are issued either.ab2000 said:@Snakes_Belly they are saying:

Do you think its worth putting in a SAR request now or wait?
My bank seem to think that the payment will show as pending, but then they've not claimed it. This doesn't result in anything showing on the system as a declined payment would. Things such as poor connectivity can result in this.
Could you get your bank to confirm that the payment may be pending? I have heard that this could have happened from other posters.
I would try to put together information for your defence because it is likely to happen but there is plenty of ammunition.

Haven't you already posted up an image?Snakes_Belly said:
Another poster has taken an image so I am hoping for a copy. Google starts from 2020 and Excel did not take over until 2021. In a short time they have done a lot of damage.Fruitcake said:Have a look at Google Streetview to see if there are any historic images of use before the PPC changed in June.
There may also be useful images on some of the other threads about this site.

This happened back in May. I saw it was pending, but after 3 days if not completed it times out with no record. I thought nothing more of it, why would I? I thought I'd paid until this morning! I'm assuming I paid by card as I rarely have cash, but I know I paid.Snakes_Belly said:

So when you looked at your bank account online you could see the pending transaction but that was never taken from the account.ab2000 said:

I believe you entirely as this has happened a lot. It's difficult to drill down to what has actually happened which is the reason for all the questions.
I just wonder if it is possible for a bank to look at their records of your account for that day and see the pending transaction. I may look into this as I am from a financial background. I wonder if a pending transaction that is not debited to the account will appear on a historic record.

I don't think that this sign is at the entrance. I think it backs onto the front of the car park and is the terms and conditions board. It's also Gresley Row. Were you parked here or on Backcester Lane?

I was parked here. I don't recall ever seeing a sign at the entrance, I don't think there was one. only this one and 2? on the walls.Snakes_Belly said:"Haven't you already posted up an image?"

Ref. pending transactions that fail, Barclays don't keep a record as the funds never leave your account, they are just reserved nor is the transaction declined, which would leave a record and I would receive a text to inform me (another record)2 -

Well that is very convenient for Excel especially as they were not issuing tickets. That is why so many have just paid up because they feel as if they have no proof.
I think that this happened to Adam another forum member who is sure that he paid but has no proof.

This appears to be a relatively newly invented scam payment process, where payment is requested, then held pending *something happening*, no ticket is issued, the payment is mysteriously not taken because *something failed to happen*, thus leaving the PPC with proof a vehicle entered the car park, proof no payment was made, and leaving the motorist with no proof they paid or even tried to pay.
What a jolly wheeze that is.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

I telephoned my bank and asked about these pending payments. They said that they are only present for a few days and if not called for they disappear from the system.Fruitcake said:This appears to be a relatively newly invented scam payment process, where payment is requested, then held pending *something happening*, no ticket is issued, the payment is mysteriously not taken because *something failed to happen*, thus leaving the PPC with proof a vehicle entered the car park, proof no payment was made, and leaving the motorist with no proof they paid or even tried to pay.

How long will a pending transaction stay Barclays?A pending transaction is a recent card transaction that has not yet been fully processed by the merchant. If the merchant doesn't take the funds from your account, in most cases it will drop back into the account after 7 days.
So being a small amount the driver would not notice and would assume that they had paid but would have no evidence of paying.
