Hi all I’m aware i amposting a lot on here lately I apologise for that and hopefully it’ll be one of the last times! I recently submitted a defence to ccbcaq@justice.gov.uk with you guys help.

I sent it Wednesday and I have had no acknowledgement from them or the legal team I copied in. I’m aware it’s only Friday but my defence submission deadline is next week 30 aug.

Is it normal to wait a while before getting an acknowledgement? Checked and email has def been sent correctly

Did you send it recorded or registered delivery? Never just put such documemts in the post and hope for the best.

Yes like farfetch says it was by email. I could post it next day delivery on Monday I guess. but I remember reading in the newbie thread to not use things like signed for, and that email was ok as I had a record of it, so I am unsure if I should also post it or not?
  • Monday is a Bank Holiday in most of the UK.

    ah.. I have found

"The CCBC can be contacted by sending an email to ccbc@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk "

I will try this and also their postal address from google and see. Re recorded delivery the newbie thread says "
DO NOT USE RECORDED (OR SPECIAL) DELIVERY FOR ANYTHING TO A PARKING FIRM OR THEIR SOLICITOR." so I assume I just use normal first class post.

Correct, along with a proof of posting. Service is then assumed after 2 business days, if sent 1st Class.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    The topic title is

no acknowledgement of defence from ccbc

And if your email goes into their SPAM folder then it is lost. Everyone assumes email is the thing - no it is not. Just like when I ran outdoor pursuits - We dont need to use a map and compass they used to say -  we have our mobile phones - great until the battery goes flat or you cannot get a signal.
Funny but something else I am involved with and the solicitor told them *Registered Post
If it is a defence then Signed For is the thing

This issue would be better progressed on the Parking Board.

The opening post on the sticky thread there entitled Template defence to adapt for all parking cases where they add false admin costs - edited March 2022 explains how to file a Defence and it is exactly how you have done it. However, the process that the CCBC has for acknowledging the receipt of emails is at best, somewhat dodgy.

Suggest it might be a good idea to email your Defence again to that CCBCAQ address during normal working hours on Tuesday and If you do not receive an automatic reply, then phone the CCBC - number on your Claim Form - and ask them why.

Is this related to your existing NCP thread on the Parking board?
If so, it's probably best to keep all discussion about that one incident in one thread - or at least on the same board.  ;)

I don't know where you found that address but it is out of date.

All the CCBC's email addresses are at @justice.gov.uk and have been for several years.
