And this thread was started 2 years ago today.  

So that's 191 discontinuances per year (more than 3.6 per week) that this board can confirm - and no doubt far more that we aren't aware of.

@DJPsrv9 becomes our latest discontinuation, kicking UKPC and DCB Legal into the long grass, when they tried to screw him for £260, for a 14 minute overstay.

What we see on here is only a tiny fraction of the claims issued by DCB Legal. Considering that around 95% of all claims issued end up with a default CCJ, I would hazard that the discontinuances we see on here are fairly rare in the overall scheme of things.

Received a discontinuance notification this morning from DCB Legal/Capital Car Park Control for alleged parking contravention at Telford Whitehouse Hotel in Nov 22. Defence: signs that did not meet BPA Code of Practice (and photos demonstrating this), no planning permission for signs (and proof of it from Telford and Wrekin Council) plus they sent a blurred and heavily redacted contract which did not clearly demonstrate the relationship between landowner and claimant. 

Received many letters and missed (ignored!) calls from them. I did not agree to mediation and just sat tight. Deadline for them to pay the fee and submit full application was Thursday 14th August '24 (this week). Received discontinuance notice today on 12th August.  

Huge thanks to all the wonderful advice from the administrators and others on the Private Parking Tickets - Help and Advice Facebook page, particularly Hilary Davis and Tom Trinder.

@QueenDiogenes - would love to see a redacted copy of the N279 Notice of Discontinuation you should soon receive from the court. Post it up here, then I'll get you case counted in the totals. Moving rapidly towards 400!

Another day, another discontinuation over in a FB group.
Usual dodgy duo of DCB Legal/UKPC dragging up an old case from 2019, a "driver left site" jobby.
There was us preparing for a Sept hearing, trial fee due 09/08. D rang to check if they'd coughed up the notes, only to discover it was  discontinued back in February and nobody told us. 6 unnecessary months of worry due to their poor communications! Scumbags.
No N279 but the court popped over an email to confirm the call. I

👆👆 UKPC (and DCB Legal) at it again with the biggest scam of them all - 'driver left site' rubbish. @Solihillers reports yet another discontinuation from this pair who are wasting motorists, the courts and taxpayers time and money. Appalling stuff!

Secure a Space and DCB Legal thought @Colonizemars would be another victim to fall for their grab and for the 'crime' of parking in the fob-controlled underground car park where they lived. This is the first case of more to follow. But they have been repelled, resulting in a predictable discontinuation. More to follow no doubt.
