It is vital that the Govt hears the voice of motorists, because the private parking sector itself is (and has been) playing dirty to try to maintain the status quo (and the obscene profits that go with it) to allow them to continue their unabated feeding frenzy, gorging on motorists daily. In the past year they have issued 11 million tickets, a business now worth in excess of £1billion!

In view of 1000 tory losses in the bi-electionns, Sunak needs to wake up, smell the coffee and get rid of Gove just like Boris did

This is a huge joke, it is not rocket science to produce a consultation.

Nope, but it is rocket science to perfect a Draft Impact Assessment that drills deep into every aspect from both sides (the good guys and the dark side) looks at as many facts, figures and case studies as humanly possible (whilst being aware that what PPC World says is likely to include a measure of self-serving fabrication and misleading statistics) and will lead to a JR-proof final Code.

It's not the Consultation that takes the time I'm sure.  If they'd rushed the IA it could have been vulnerable to another JR. We must let them do this thoroughly.   At least you know we have an inside woman (plus other good motorist reps) so this time, the BPA aren't walking all over it like they did in 2012.

Whilst everyone fully appeciates the work you do, on and off this site, and your comprehensive knowledge that damages the cowboys and their so called legals, Gove is dragging his heals.

Between yourself and Bargepole and a few others, you could have sorted this out last year but it is out of your hands sadly

Gove has never been fit for purpose and now he is being sued by Berkeley Homes who claim he is “irrational". He is going to be a busy man over the summer protecting himself and I will be amazed if he spends much time protecting the motorist and the biggest scam the UK has ever seen

Yes, government needs to get all their ducks in a row I agree.  We are still waiting for Rishi Sunak Transparency pledge to show it's face ?
He should start with The Dept of Levelling Up before 1000's more people are scammed
