UKPC Parking fees at McDonald's, Broughton

Hello everyone, Thanks again for your helpful advice. Since my last post, they've sent two further letters. Both threatening action if I don't pay the fine. This is causing some anxiety for me and affecting my mental health. Please, I'll appreciate some advice on how to make them stop. Isn't there a limitation on such length of contact that puts someone's health at risk? Thanks in advance for your help.0

Sorry but lets put this in context
no ones health is at risk as you have made aware of what to do with the letters and the advice has been given. Just follow the previous advice in the newbies thread4 -

Just ignore those letters as we already advised; it is nothing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello everyone, thank you for your support since last year on this parking charge at McDonald's. I have received the following documentation from DCBL and I think this might be the county court filing. They have lied on the forms that I agreed to pay the fee within 28 days and I did not. They have now increased how much they are claiming.
Please see the link to the documents: https://imgur.com/a/y6cXujO
I will appreciate your advice about this. Thank you.0 -
They have lied on the forms that I agreed to pay the fee within 28 days and I did not.Sorry, they haven't 'lied', I'm afraid you did agree 'by conduct' in parking there. The signage will have detailed it. That's why it's important to read all signage in a private car park so you know exactly what you're agreeing to by parking. What you have now received is a formal court claim and you need to deal with it as per the advice in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, second post.
With a date of issue of 20th March, you will need to acknowledge its service (AOS) on or after 25th March. Forum regular @KeithP will be along to advise you on other key dates and provide further guidance to get your Defence underway. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Besides, in answer to your question, there was no sign to show the number of hours customers should park there. I don't want to out myself or give them ammunition to use against me, since this is finally going to a hearing. However, I appreciate you for responding.0 -
@Pessa, you need to thicken your skin slightly. You have been told, repeatedly, since you first came here to ignore everything except a LoC or a Claim, which you have now received.
You need to acknowledge that claim after getting the deadline information from @KeithP who will be along shortly with the info for a claim issue date of 20th March 2022. You will then know by what date you have to file your defence by.
Of course you know all this because you have been on here for quite some time and we expect you to have read, re-read and read again the Newbies/FAQ thread in order to understand the process your are in and what to expect when. You already knew about ignoring the debt collector letters and were told to stop worrying about them.
Just to ease your fears a bit more, I suggest you read this thread regarding the scamming duo of UKPC and DCB Legal which will highlight the probable outcome of this issue:DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS
Stop harping on about "I didn't agree...". By parking where you did or in any private land car park, whether you read the terms or not, you are agreeing to those terms by the act of remaining there. It's not an issue for now.
Also, going on about how many minutes it took to get your meal at McDs or how busy it was is not a concern for these scammers. They are after your money and will sink as low as possible in order to get you to part with it. Follow the advice you are getting and study the Newbies/FAQ thread and you will overcome this, learn some valuable life lessons in the process and be able to get on with your life.

Hello Umkomaas, thank you for your response and I appreciate you taking the time. That was a bit harsh IMO, if you could go back to the beginning of this case, you will read what I wrote that happened. I never agreed to pay the fee that DCBL or UKPC imposed on me after appealing the charge.I'm afraid almost everyone who comes to the forum for advice misunderstands the allegation of agreeing to pay the parking charge within 28 days. It is technically what the 'contract' (the signage detail) states. It's no big deal, it appears in almost every court claim particulars, it's caused no one any grief. I was certainly not being 'harsh', just helping you understand what this stuff means. But, now you've got the court claim, you're better off than you were before, because now you have the real opportunity to put this to bed, once and for all. Please read the thread I created to record just how many claims made by DCB Legal and defended with assistance from the forum actually see their way to a court hearing. Answer - the square root of FA!
