If I want to save with any of these banks or building society’s, I like to call and ask questions.
If they don’t answer calls to new savers, what’s going to happen when they have your money and you have an issue.
I nearly went with smart save a while back, until I found out they don’t have a telephone number to call.
Why? The vast majority of the time things just work as intended without the need for human intervention.
If I take the 1 year fixed list on MoneyFacts and open it up by selecting "show more" going all the way down to Natiowide at 2%,  with the exception of FCMB, State Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Arbuthnot Direct and Brown Shipley, I've had or currently have accounts with every one in the list and I've never spoken to anyone, at any time, through any medium, at any of them..

Slightly off topic but for those of us who have additional needs, like me (I'm visually impaired & need correspondence in large print) it's really helpful to be able to speak to an actual person at times.

One way The Coventry (& their mortgage arm Godiva) stands out to me is that they are the only bank/BS that has consistently provided all documents in my chosen format. So many other banks don't, even though they claim to.

I get an error saying that I need to install Javascript.

Thought that went out with the Ark.

Edit. Just deleted the Coventry cookies and I got in. It also now has the option of a text confirmation which I prefer to a phone call.
Yes, new text option is a good addition. Wonder if that was the software update that crashed the system!!  Login now slowed to a crawl again as I suppose everyone's now logging in to check their accounts!

I have tried to log in four times.  Even when, all four times, entering the text (four different texts) instead of reaching my account, I see this notice every time:  "Something's gone wrong.  Page Not Available.

The instruction is to start again but I'm going round in circles.

I am now telephoning on hold - this is my third attempt to telephone and I gave up after waiting on the first two occasions.  I have been holding for 18 minutes this time and will hold a bit longer before having to give up.

Things are not back to normal yet.

After waiting 22 minutes on hold my cordless 'phone (home landline) signalled low battery and cut the call off!

As above managed to log on, but very very slow, managed to set up a withdrawal tomorrow, wouldn’t let me withdraw today, not surprising really.

On the plus side, my Bond interest for July is now in my NatWest account! Must have been a late run since I checked early this morning.

I can't log in at all. On Safari, I'm told I need to enable Java Script - it is & always has been enabled. I've cleared cookies several times, restarted my Mac, unticked & re ticked the enable Java Script box - no joy.

Tried Chrom on my Mac -get an error message that secure.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk is taking too long to respond (Like I hadn't noticed  :s)

I'm hoping the site is just too busy this morning. Sigh.

I'm the same, Stubod, but I have given up for now.  All my efforts to get through on the telephone, so far, have been futile as I have not felt able to hold on for long enough:  sometimes 20+ minutes.
