I find digital registration with Al Rayan very complicated (and unsuccessful). It is not as easy as other online savings accounts.0

Called the next day, 5 minutes later account was open and was given Sort code and account number.
Thats not much of an issue as far as I’m concerned.
Then logged into the app with Account number etc.
10 minutes from start to finish.1 -
It's a shame that Al Rayan are still embarrassing themselves by not employing someone competent to handle their IT.Bigwheels1111 said:Yellowman said:I find digital registration with Al Rayan very complicated (and unsuccessful). Mrs R tried to sign up yesterday. Like you, she got to stage 4, after answering all those questions, and it stopped. Leaving her with just a continue button that did nothing.
This morning she was surprised to get a Welcome email telling her the next step was to make a deposit into the following account.... Gave a sort and reference, but account number was blank. I've used them on and off for a few years and got used to their eccentricities, but for new clients they must be totally bewildering.
For irony, at the foot of the email is the slogan: "Banking you can believe in." I can see six different Al Rayan apps on Google Play, every one of them rated as rubbish by users. It's a small bank, but management at Al Rayan, if it exists, needs to get a grip.

Yep and their CS is useless: Secure messaged them asking to explain how a service i get is set up: 7 days later politely prompted them; day later they responded with an incorrect answer. Queried it by return.
We're now at 10 days with no workable response.
It's not a disaster as everything still works, but just saying...0 -
I have managed to open the savings account and have registered for online banking (on a computer, not a mobile phone) but I cannot log in - I keep getting a 'failed' message.Bigwheels1111 said:Yellowman said:I find digital registration with Al Rayan very complicated (and unsuccessful). Customer Support has not been able to help, so I am waiting for the IT Department to call back (within five days).
My computer runs Windows 10 (maximum), so I am wondering if this is the issue.0 -
I'd guess they outsource anything vaguely technical. CS staff are always a pleasure to talk to and fine for telling you your balance. Anything more tends to flummox them. Not their fault, but that of whoever is responsible for their training and current understaffing.soulsaver said:Yep and their CS is useless: Secure messaged them asking to explain how a service i get is set up: 7 days later politely prompted them; day later they responded with an incorrect answer. I am on Windows 10 and can use the desktop app fine. Though I am authenticating with the app, and usually only access my Al Rayan accounts through the app.
If you are not using the app, you need to use their Hard Token to log in. You haven't mention that token, but I trust you got one?1 -
I've given up trying to register on their app - I had web-based access but that seems to have migrated to the app. I got as far as getting a code before things stopped working. My 12 month fixed term savings account matures in October and I received a letter to say that the funds will be sent to my nominated current account so I don't need to do anything. Just as well!

I have been using the iOS app from day one without problems. It's the online access that I did struggle with, as their 2FA is a bit weird.Gers said:I've given up trying to register on their app - I had web-based access but that seems to have migrated to the app. I got as far as getting a code before things stopped working.
