Morning turtles
Went to the outdoor theatre on Tuesday eve with 2 friends. We had a lovely time, took crisps and nuts and my friend made cakeI drove and they paid for parking, one friend also gave me a bottle of wine to thank me for driving! Did a top up shop so not a NSD.
Achieved NSD #3 yesterday. Dropped DD2 in town then got to work at 10am, got home at 10pm! Didn't set foot outside apart from to and from my car. Took lunch and tea with me to work including the leftover 1/3 of a large tube of crisps which i finished off oops
WfH the rest of this week, glad of that .
Grateful for a nice evening with friends, good day at work with support from boss, library books
love Deni

Sending more get well vibes @apple_muncher.
Finally a scorcher on our island ☀️
Gave the bathroom a good clean, then time for Popmaster, so sat on our front steps with my solar powered radio & buffed my nails whilst playing along. Washed the kitchen floor, then got ready for my day out with friends. One was coming to pick me up & got stuck behind lots of tractors heading to our village for the agricultural show here today. While waiting for her, I looked at all the pretty hollyhocks growing down the side of our driveway, all different colours & the bees were loving them!
Had a great time with my friends, the 3 of us work together & are so close, we're like family. All had something big we've had to cope with the past 18 months (different things) but been able to support each other through it ♥️ lots of laughs, quite a few cocktails & lots of fun 😃 DS1 came to pick me up after he'd finished work (still more tractors heading to the show park).
Grateful for listening to the radio in the sun, bees & hollyhocks, special friends & fun times, DS1 driving 14 miles each way to pick me up after a breakfast shift & an evening shift at workUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

It was so hot yesterday I spent most of the afternoon inside, blinds drawn, fan on, still melting, drinking lots of water and reading. I really don't think I'm a hot weather kind of person. I did get some things done in the morning, though. It's going to be another hot one today so after coffee I'm going to give my plants their first drink of the day and then defrost the freezers and fridges. That's a nice cold job for weather like this.
Other that that I'll have to see what I can manage.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Sweaty Betty here checking in from London.Last night’s Bob Marley musical was stunning - the vocals, the dancing, the passion of the performers. I was captivated the full length of the show! I said to OH I’d love to make a theatre trip an annual thing… on top of all the other trips I have on my list. I really need to win the lottery (that I don’t play). 😂
We’ve had a lovely couple of days strolling about well-shaded areas of the city: the tree-lined London canals, the parks, Highgate Cemetery - the resting place of a few famous writers, artists, and activists - and the cafe bars. Today we’ll be seeking shade on the public river boat (a fraction of the price of an actual Thames tour boat). I have also been protecting my red-headed, freckled self with factor 50 and a brolly! 😂So far we’re still within budget. Eating breakfast in the apartment but indulging in eating out at all other times. Walking loads so although we’re spending many £s we’re at least limiting gaining lbs. I’ve been keeping up healthy eating too - easier in London with all the variety.Grateful for the arts, for human talent, and for OH gifting me this trip last sproutmas.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸10 -
Toni'sfriend, what I love about the turtles is that we're not here to just proclaim our successes and that's all. We're here for the mundane, day to day-ness of life. Nothing is too big or too small to mention. I love hearing how your planting has brought such joy, and how you sneak Himself's stuff out when you can!

Thank you for all the well wishes. Pip is mending and is chomping at the bit to be let out. I'm most definitely not!Today I continue to be grateful for paracetamol, cold water and my bed, for utube, for pip being much improved, for dh still testing negative, for a breeze, for balm tissues, for the glut of rasps in the garden.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Evening,
@apple_muncher hope you feel much better soon.
2 more NSDs - this not buying lunch/coffee when I go to work really makes a difference.
Been to yoga and work today, 15 hours out of the flat. That really makes a difference too.
Grateful for
- being able to get up at 4.40 to go to yoga,
- seeing the break of day from the train - just gorgeous
- coffee

I decided it was too hot to move so I had a morning nap (awake very early then started to flag by mid-morning) and an afternoon nap. Did a tiny amount of work outside.
Still hot (maybe hotter today) so have been doing bits in my room (pulled the curtain further over). It's finally shady in the garden so want to get out there to sweep. Someone said we would have thunder and lightning tomorrow and I want to get as much soil dust off the flags as possible before that happens. Not keen on the head to toe dust covering (especially not inside my mouth, throat and nostrils). I've had a shower and let myself dry naturally (very quick, I'm starting to heat up again now) but gave up on the idea of going to mum's to bring the bins in.
Food order is due between 9 pm and 10 pm (cheapo delivery slot but wasn't going to have it between 10 pm and 11 pm to get another 50 p off). Mainly drinks, yoghurts and ice cream/ lollies with one or two food bits. Back to the bungalow tomorrow, then will try to spend the weekend restoring a bit of domestic order (keep nibbling the elephants).
Grateful for sunshine drying out the yard (leaking water butt hindered the process), craft supplies (resisting purchasing so far), DS3 remembering to bring up the clean dry bath mat and towel, clearing some patches of floor, ideas for minor improvements that will ease some problems (and use stuff that is currently taking up box space).8
