Too many suppliers suiting themselves and taking unnecessary profit.
Well, in fairness oil is still over $90 a barrel and the pound isn’t worth as many dollars as it used to be. Around 45% of the price is tax anyway.
You're quoting me out of context.

In context i was saying there are petrol stations chosing to sell at 173.9ppl whereas others in neighbouring towns are able to sell at 163.9ppl.

Maybe they bought it from their supplier back when it was dearer. Some of these places don’t look too busy. No wonder.

I admire your optimism about the morals of fuel suppliers.

The one in question was the Tesco in Banbridge.  They were out of petrol last weekend, with a price of 173.9 and then got petrol in again and retained the 173.9 price.

I think fuel suppliers are very much suiting themselves.  They are certainly feeling no compulsion to do the right thing and drop their prices, which is frustrating, given the country is in a cost of living crisis.

The cost of living crisis is essentially a function of the rise in gas and oil prices. The next prime minister (odds on another short career, everyone?) will have a lot of decisions to make very quickly.
We don’t hear much about COP26 anymore - it’s all about the affordability of fossil fuels and how many will have to choose between keeping warm and eating properly next winter. Used Car prices have dipped a little recently as you’d expect.

Looks like cop26 was a tremendous buy signal for fossil fuel company shares.

Good to see prices dropping further.  Our local station here in Tandragee City Centre is now down to 159.9ppl from 163.9ppl.  In Portadown, the Go station is now 154.9ppl

Hoping that bodes well for fuel prices generally over the winter, though i see its now trending upwards from a low on 11th Aug.

Now come on, does it really need explaining to you it was a tongue in cheek comment?

Near the cathedral and the university? No petrol station, though.
