yep, hope your fixed for another year or so Ed ?

I'm out of my fix in September .   it will be wood burning stoves and candles for us

I think I'm really glad we bought the type of wood burning stoves you can cook on

Good grief!  I haven't heard anything from my supplier yet - if thats the kind of thing they're doing, I'm not sure I want to!

we run out of our fixed rate at the end of September, it's our new fixed rate offer, we will barely be putting the lights on and very rarely have the heating on I reckon,

Martin looked like he was about to lose his !!!!!! on TV this morning! :s

We've got 9 months of normality left, then suspect Mrs E will need to cut her pension to the bare minimum for the match. That will save 300 massively begrudged pounds a month. Not sure where the other £100 or so will come from. Feels like the tide is going out on FIRE as a concept unless you're on £££,£££

Very hard for many to cope with such high energy bills.

Is that a per month rate El??? I couldn't cope with that at all!!
    Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
    1) MFW Nov 21 £202K now £172.5K Equity 36.11%
    2) £1.6K Net savings after CCs 14/8/25
    3) Mortgage neutral by 06/30 (AVC £25.6K + Lump Sums DB £4.6K + (25% of SIPP 1.2K) = 31.4/£127.5K target 24.6% 1/9/25
(If took bigger lump sum = 53.3K or 41.8%)
    4) FI Age 60 income target £17.1/30K 57% (if mortgage and debts repaid - need more otherwise)
(If bigger lump sum £15.8/30K 52.67%)
    5) SIPP £4.8K updated 29/7/25

I saw an interview with him on you tube, he looked so worn down tbh, my heart went out to him. Hopefully it settles down soon Ed and you wont have to sacrifice things

Yep that's per month, thankfully @skint_spice gave me a link to Martin's site to check out how it will affect me, so for us were up to  £429 which is still well over the £3.5k quoted but it isnt as bad as the £757,  we deff plan on using the fires for heating and cooking, probably heating water etc as well. We will up our DDM but not by too much, I cant afford even the £429 so will need to cut back
