I have two amounts that go into the existing HSBC account automatically at different times of the month which total approximately £1100 so I need to make it up with £400 (which I will then return to the other account).
Yes - this is fine. Any combination of payments in is acceptable, as long as they total £1500. You could do 1 x £1500, 2 x £750, 15 x £100, 1500 x £1, etc...

It's annoying that you cannot apply for a joint account online. This wasn't an issue with HSBC, First Direct and previous switches.
Trying to get through on the 0345 720 3040 is the usual frustration. Finally get through with a terrible connection (probably as statff WFH) on hold for 20 minutes and gave up.
Will visit branch today. I expect there will be no appointments other than when we are on holiday.
Such a frustrating process.

Halifax have a browser issue - does not work with Chrome. Very unprofessional for an organization of this size.
Warning - having finally opened an account I now get a text saying that they have closed it! No explanation given.0 -
