@atena I see! Our solicitors haven’t been instructed yet. Our broker said once we have the offer they will contact us…. Fingers crossed for everyone. Hopefully someone hears something today.
That's odd!! My estate agent told me I have to apply for a mortgage and instruct solicitors at the same time because solicitors take 28 days for searches alone!
  • @Atena not heard of that. I suppose the broker was thinking wouldn’t be worth paying the solicitor until we had the offer?

We have got the solicitor but haven’t signed anything with them so not aware they’re doing anything on our behalf ??? Who knows!!!

The 28 days once we have the offer would be okay for us.

We instructed our solicitors after our offer was accepted on the 11th July, more so the seller knew we were serious as they've already had one sale fall through at the very last minute and we knew someone else was trying to get the property.

The solicitors have only had one small payment on account (not the full fee) and we've got home buyers insurance incase things start to go wrong (touch wood they don't). The searches are not due back until the 24th August before any enquiries so we figured it would be best to run them alongside the mortgage application 🤞

The only thing we've been advised to hold on for is the full survey as the turnaround time for that is only 2 weeks. X

Can you tell I'm obsessing?! think I check this forum atleast 50 times a day to see if anyone has had progress ha

Guess everyone's situation is different tho and it's a risky business paying all these fees when we don't know whats going to happen x

Me too, I’m constantly refreshing the page.

As mine is a remortgage I’ve instructed my solicitors so that the only thing we are waiting on is the offer so hopefully can complete on it asap.

I really need to do some work on my house and need to get started asap. Not sure what we will do if it doesn’t happen.

Has anyone got a part gifted deposit? And if so, has Kent reliance or solicitors asked you to complete a form?

Ours is gifted and haven’t been asked to fill in anything yet, but the broker said we would need to eventually.

I’ve just been asked by solicitors to fill out the form as they need to report to the lender?
