WI's are all very different SH. I visited several in the area before deciding which to join. You can usually go along to 2 or 3 meetings before making a decision whether to join or not. Maybe ask a friend to go along with you and see how you feel.

Playing with crayons
I spent most of the day yesterday working on my show painting. And it's almost finished 🥳 Just a few minor adjustments to make this morning and it will be done. I have some chores to get done today and then I'll start on the display back board. I'm very pleased to be making good progress as I hate to paint under pressure - it takes all the joy out of it.
We had pitta with sweet potato falafel, houmous and salad for lunch. Supper was Sausage, Kale & Gnocchi One-Pot. It was quite hot but nice to be able to have something spicy as we had to avoid chilli whilst the Sunflowers were here. I used Chard from the veg patch instead of Kale.
We'd been thinking of having a day out somewhere this weeked but the weather forecast is for rain most of the time. Also Mr F wants to chop wood 🪓 We had some fences replaced recently and he wants to save as much of the wood as he can for the log burner. If power is rationed this winter we will need as much as we can get 😢
Lots of produce needs picking in the veg patch since the rain gave everything a boost. I'll rejig the meal plan for today to use it.
Have a great weekend guys

Workout
I spent most of the weekend working on Show stuff but have got to the end of my list for it now. I painted a huge back board for our display area and blimey it was a work out. I rested the board against a chair and sat on a small 'hop up' stool to do the work. I had to get up regularly to stand back and see how the painting looked and it was only the day after (when the muscles in my legs were screaming) that I realised this meant I'd been doing hundreds of squats 😆
Now the Show stuff is done I can get on with other things. I spent yesterday morning catching up on admin:- called the vet to order FDawg's regular flea and worm treatments. Cost covered in our monthly payment plan
- ordered a repeat prescription. No cost as I qualify for free prescriptions
- contacted our radio internet provider to ask them to re-site the receiver. It's rattling around where it is now and waking us up if it's windy. I'm hoping there won't be a cost for that.
- ordered treats for FDawg as he's running out. In the budget.
- spent hours on a futile search for a certificate of posting for an item I've returned but haven't been refunded for 😠
- did the meal plan and the grocery shop. It will probably come in about £28 under budget this time
- paid road tax for Mr F's truck. In the budget - although I'd budgetted £30 more than needed so the extra will go into savings
- bought a raffle ticket for a good cause. £5 from the random acts of kindness budget.
- and... a Homes for Ukraine payment showed up in my account 🥳 Just one though. The other month we are owed has been processed though I'm told. I wrote to the Council to let them know that our guests are currently back in Ukraine and we won't quality for the next payment. I'm really hoping that doesn't interfere with the outstanding payment we're owed.
Young Decorator arrived on Monday morning. He had an unexpected gap in his diary so called to say he could start on our jobs if we'd like. Initially we'd asked him to rub down and oil the Annexe windows but I've asked him to do some small repair jobs in the house as well. Also to re-oil the house windows and put some water seal on the hay window surrounds. I'd virtually ring-fenced the money for the work in the savings account although it might come in a little more than planned because of scope creep 😆 Mr F has so much on his plate at the moment with work I want to take some things off his to do list.
I feel so much more in control of the budget now we're back to a two person household. Partly it's having the time to reconcile the accounts and forecast costs. But two less mouths to feed is making a huge difference. Space is appearing in my cupboards and fridge too 😆 Although I have harvested four enormous courgettes which I've had to find a home for 😆
Hope you're week is going well folks
