Preparing to be judged 😲
I withdrew the OPs I'd ring-fenced from the PBs yesterday and will send them to the mortgage when they arrive in my account. Also re-jigged the budget to send OPs direct to the mortgage from now on. Also got lots of house work done so am feeling very virtuous 😇
We had leftover haddock for lunch and Sweetcorn & Courgette Fritters with salad for supper. I made double the amount of fritters so that we could have them for lunch today too but still only used a disappointing 100 grams of courgette from the growing pile in my fridge 😆
I've been down at the Show site this morning setting up our exhibits for judging. There are fewer entries this year but the standard is extremely high. There were some beautiful examples of arts and crafts being shown. I don't think we'll win anything for our entries but they did look very good and I feel that we can hold our heads up amongst the competition. Each item will get an individual mark too and I have 3 items entered in total. Wish me luck 🍀

Great news on the tax back and the OP potential. As you say this is one of the few places where people 'get it'.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Judged and still standing 😆
We did well in the show 🥳 2nd place in the Window Display (8 items) and we were awarded the WI Shield for achieving the highest numbers of points for exhibits (points are also awarded for staging and interpretation). We got 3rd place in the Tabletop Display (4 items). All of our items were individually awarded over 75% of the maximum number of points available and I got 20/20 for one of my paintings and my liquer and 19/20 for the other painting. Well chuffed! The Displays were left up today so that everyone attending the show could have a look.
Mr F and I went to the show today. It was lovely to see so many people out and about in the sunshine. It really felt as though things had returned to normal. There were maybe a few less exhibitors but the show still attracted thousands. We spent £24 on tickets to get in. It would have been £20 but I hadn't realised there was a concession for over 60's - I keep forgetting Mr F is old now 😆 We had a pie/pasty lunch from one of the food stalls and a coffee/hot chocolate to follow. I tried very hard to spend more money on an ice cream but the queues were horrendous so we gave up.
We decided to make a full day of it and went out for supper. We thought we'd try somewhere new so went to a local hotel. All costs to be met from this month's fun money.
Phew! I feel I can breathe out now. There's nothing big on the agenda again until Christmas 😆 I might start the wedding portrait soon but I can take my time with that. May even try to get a little lie in tomorrow.
Happy Saturday all.
