RCI 95 day 5.60% is NLA for new customers, still available for existing... atm.

just noticed that FirstSave increased their notice rates on 13th October - don't think it's been mentioned here previously, nor did I receive any notification from them on the rate change.
- 30-Day increased from 4.25% to 5.00%
- 60-Day increased from 4.50% to 5.20%
- 90-Day increased from 5.00% to 5.40%

Vanquis has a 90 day notice issue 2 at 5.5%. Is this higher than their issue 1? Looking at getting it but they only give 30 days notice for a rate reduction, so want to assess if they are likely to keep it competitive. Do you have to give notice to upgrade to the latest issue?0

Is there really much point in using notice accounts at the moment
I have 10k being credited from a 95 Day account from HTB tomoz at 4.30%
Was just gonna dump it in the 5.20% Santander Easy Access Saver0 -
HTB is a lot lower than Vanquis, Santander a bit lower. If you don't need it for 90 days why not get the better rate of a notice account. Some notice accounts tell you the length of the notice period before a rate reduction. Vanquis do not, which is why I asked the question.2

I don't have any notice accounts myself at the moment but, with easy access rates unlikely to increase dramatically anytime soon, I guess the best 90-120 day notice rates are currently a reasonable half-way house between the best easy access rates and the best 1 year fixed rate accounts, for those not wanting to lock their money away for a year.daz_f said:Is there really much point in using notice accounts at the moment

If you don't need the funds now they're a very good option what with EA and RS accounts unlikely to move for a while to what is currently available with notice accounts and for such a short term which gives flexibility.
Clearly you're not one to keep up to date with changes having had money stuck at 4.30% when 5.35% to 5.60% have been available for months now.

Maybe but you don’t realise how long 95 days actually is to get your funds out to better accountsWheres_My_Cashback said:daz_f said:Is there really much point in using notice accounts at the moment

You can easily get more than the usual 0.25% base rate rise in a 90 day notice than EA. If you think there is going to be more than one base rate rise in the next 3 months then stick with EA. In the mean time you could have been getting another 0.3% and the next MPC meeting is over one month away.0
