Smells of a data breach involving JLFS details... have you both contacted JLFS?

I logged into the website and sent JLP a message.
The message type/heading was disputed transaction. In the body of the message I essentially wrote these were fraudulent transactions and gave the details I listed in my previous message.0 -
Has anybody commented on the payment delay time? As I understand it the new JL CC expects you to only have a 15 day delay to payment. So I buy something on 26th Oct I will need to pay for it on 11 Nov which is my DD date (I pay full amount).
So before it used to be 28 ish days from last purchase to payment. This means I don't use this cc for any other purchases other than JL/Waitrose. I may actually ditch it in the near future.

Discussed on this thread and other John Lewis card threads. If you went from the JLFS Partnership card to the Newday card, you are now given 15 days from the statement date to make the payment. If you appled for the Newday card without having a previous relationship with John Lewis, i.e. a new customer, then you got 56 days to pay the bill.I think somebody mentioned that another Newday card, possibly Aqua, also give you 15 days to make the payment. To the best of my recollection.
Edited. Apparently it is the Newday BIP card that has a 15 day payment window. Mentioned by a user on another John Lewis thread.1 -
K - tempted to ditch it as I don't shop much there anyway and Waitrose loyalty card will give points. Really, really annoyed they did this. JL is no longer a consumer champion in my eyes for various other reasons as well as this.0

Im_A_Mouse_In_Need said:Another applicant unexpectedly rejected here. I called to follow up and was told I could write to appeal their decision. I lodged a (verbal) complaint and said John Lewis would probably lose a lot of good customers from this. New Day sent a letter a fortnight later saying they had received the complaint, then another letter received today saying they were happy with their decision.
Not that big a deal for me, I think this will hurt John Lewis a bit.
The problem seems to be New Day, possibly pursuing a business model where customers who pay off in full every month are seen as unprofitable. But there are several posters on here in similar financial position who have been accepted for the new card as well, so it might be a glitch in the credit scoring system.
Either way, I'm not bothered enough to take it further. The JL vouchers were nice while they lasted, but not really a life changer.0 -
I also find the app awful as it doesn’t open fully
you can barely see your statement as the window is so small and there isn’t really a clear day the payment is due like the HSBC one only when the DD is taken0 -
I had the old partnership card by HSBC and have been transitioned to the new card by NewDay. To be clear I am told by NewDay when I phoned them after receiving our first statement a few weeks before Christmas I noticed a 46 day interest free period on the new card instead of 56 day on the old card was a John Lewis business decision for existing partnership card customers, which we are, and had nothing to do with NewDay and they referred me to John Lewis financial services. However for entirely new card customers NewDay said the new partnership card gives 56 days interest free period but with higher interest. We had no choice in the matter though. To me this is discriminatory practice and that the business decision must have come from the top at John Lewis, namely the CEO Sharon White must have known so I've asked John Lewis to log my complaint and have a reference number and escalate this to her. That was on 3rd January 2023, i have not received a reply in the 3-5 day timescale they gave. I'm expecting this to be put right by having an interest free period of 56 days on my card as I had before. Shameful John Lewis Financial Services

Shameful John Lewis Financial ServicesJLFS is HSBC, so nothing at all to do with your current New Day card with a John Lewis logo on it.What you've described isn't discrimination. How could it be?1
