Can someone let me know who the email inviting you to apply for the new card comes from (email address)? I've had a JLP card for many years but don't seem to have been invited to apply for the new one - perhaps they're trying to tell me something!!
    Thanks.

Don't worry. They are rolling it out very slowly.

You can, but it doesn't change the fact that you only get 15 days to pay, not 25.

New Day JLP card does have a 25 day payment option for new applications where it isn't a transfer from the old HSBC card.
I’m sorry,  that’s not true. I have both existing and new cards and the statement and payment due dates are similar; ie c.15 working days. I was just checking through my statements and ts & cs. Also the new card isn’t open to new applications yet, so I don’t know where you’ve got that information from. I’ll hazard a guess that when the new card is open to new applications that the ts and cs will be similar.

thats actually not correct you can't just log in and apply for the card that is correct

but if you register an interest by adding your email address  they then send an email afew days later with an invitation to apply.
so it is open to new applications its just you have to tell them first your interested.

I have both.  New card is 15 days,  its all down to whether you shared info when transferring,

All info on the New Day JLP cars website under Terms and Conditions.

Thank you, daveyjp, that’s very helpful. I have managed to find the two sets of Ts & Cs, and I’m appalled. They make it easy for you to share your data, without telling you that you will end up with less favourable conditions if you do. I now have to decide whether I will try contacting them to ask if I can change to 25 days, or take my business elsewhere

If memory serves, either earlier in this thread or in another John Lewis thread, a customer was told they could change the statement date of the New Day card after the 1st statement.

I was given the old statement date when I applied but changed it soon after when I set up the online account. I used the code so without my knowledge was cut down to 15 days free credit. This is appalling.

  • We’ve had a joint John Lewis card for years - just tried to apply with the code and been turned down, no reason given (although I’m assuming it’s because we pay it off in full every month) Feel strangely insulted - asked to apply and then turned down. And I know it’s not John Lewis per se, but cant help feeling annoyed with them too!

it won't be because you pay it off monthly.
