I'll check out the coleslaw - my Polish ex-housemate used to make amazing, healthy coleslaw which I loved, though I've never been much of a fan of the shop bought stuff. I'm too impatient to chop the veg, so will try the Mr T's one.jennystarpepper said:
T3sco have been selling a chopped bag of coleslaw for £1 it does come the a ranch / mayo dressing for 75 cal for 1/4 of a bag - I have been adding fresh red onion from the allotment and using a tablespoon of light mayo - you could use half the dressing and half a bag would be the same 75 cals. good with a baked potato or chicken salad and great with BBQ turkey or chicken breast.
It's been a good week generally, and when I had a slightly naughty Wed by having pizza, I just had two slices with salad so it still fitted my calories for the day. I don't often show such restraint!

I used to make fresh, the human bins who would have eaten it have left home and Mr Pepper hates mayo. Well done in the 2 slices.Van_Girl said:

If anyone has any healthy dressings ideas to go on cabbage type salads I would be very grateful.
Evening meal will be prawn salad, with slaw and new potatoes.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Jenny I make a vegetable slaw adding the usual veg plus whatever else is in the fridge, pepper, celery, sugar snap peas, fennel, raw sprouts shredded, radish etc and a sharp green apple sliced, I make a dressing with fat free greek yoghurt (usually a good one for this rather than a SM own brand)
FF Greek yoghurt
Salt & Pepper
and depending on what protein I'm adding to the salad I add either to taste Horseradish, wholegrain mustard, sweet chilli sauce or chilli jam - I thinking mango chutney may work as wellLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -
Thank you @Brambling
Planning to BBQ tomorrow or Sunday, I want to include a few half meat half plant plates, if anything it helps with my IBS.
Have a good weekend everyone.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Struggling a bit at the moment. I think I'm on week 12 of the BSD and there's something quite demoralising about nearing the end but still being 1 stone overweight...
Lunch - poached egg and avocado on sourdough toast ( M and S)
2 miniature cakes
Tea - will be a ready meal
As you may be able to tell, 3 months if cooking everything from scratch is losing its appeal!5 -
Apologies, can you remind me again what the BSD is... the CPTSD gives me brain farts, maybe as a group we can give suggestions?Frith said:Struggling a bit at the moment. Yes home food / cooking can get repetitive, chicken tikka and chicken kebabs with salad and yogurt have helped me many times.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

BSD is the Blood Sugar Diet; generally as per the book by Dr Michael Mosley.
It's low carb and works well for me.5 -
TBH I have a great admiration for the way you focus on your weight loss and get it done 🙂 compared with my faffing 😐 as the risk of not practicing what I preach may try and focus on the fantastic loss you have made last challenge. Maybe have a weekend off and enjoy something you've been cravingFrith said:Struggling a bit at the moment. Thanks, all.
I'm on the way to Sainsbury's to stock up (before it's too hot) and will begin in earnest again on Monday.4 -
Hi
Enjoy your time out from cooking Frith.Breakfast today was cheesy scrambled eggs and 2 x coffee with cream. Other meal started with a small salad with peanut chilli dressing then a chicken and red pepper Thai red curry with fried minced cauliflower and sugar free jelly for dessert.I made a matcha herbal tea thingy with coconut milk and berry juice (from defrosting frozen berries) and served over ice this afternoon and it was quite filling which I didn’t expect so no optional 3rd meal today as rather stuffed.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025
