Hi
Well done losers and sts and carry-on-ers.
Today for breakfast I had a fried egg, a streaky bacon rasher, tomatoes, mushrooms and ketchup. Am not doing too well with reducing processed meat consumption. Plus the usual 2 coffees and cream. Other meal started with a small caprese salad then a prawn Goan curry with finely chopped fried cauliflower. I like cauliflower when it’s not trying to be rice, I’ll give it a few more tries using different recipes. Berries and cream for dessert and a cup of tea with milk.Is weigh day tomorrow.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025

@Brambling - can you add me back into the reckoning please? Unlike earlier this year when I wanted to lose 7 pounds I now need to lose 10. That's what happens when you stop working!!! It's having all that time to have "proper" breakfasts and tea and biscuits at 4. And no weekend so there's no weekdays so there's no saving the wine for Saturday.....I could go on and on.....
plus the OH has declared a need to lose weight before he manages to kill himself. I'm so pleased he's finally recogonising the need. Now his journey will be his own and hopefully he'll stick to some sort of regime. His current line (as expressed previously but fleetingly) is to eat ready meals. I think I finally get this with him. He is the sort that MUST finish everything. So if it's a small meal, even if not the healthiest, he should, hopefully, stop when the plate is clear. So no buying frozen battered fish and a bag of chips as he'll eat too many chips. But buying a fish pie or even a M&S fish and chip supper will be much better for him. He has also recognised that I'm not a fan of ready meals and has stated this means that we'll have to eat different dinners. He's always been against this as it's something his parents did - his dad was an adventurous eater and his mom very boring. So I will try to stick to comparable meals when I can otherwise will get myself a salad or some salmon and veg or similar.
So 10 will get me down to the next stone point which is what I've been aiming for since last December. Might not manage it before Oct but it would be good to loosen up the trousers just a bit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Welcome back Brie hopefully if your OH is also trying you can avoid certain foods in the house?Gingerlily I don't like cauliflower rice but I do like either boiled or roasted curry with cauliflower rather than rice sometimes 🤷Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin5

Hello
Weigh day -2.5lbs please Brambling.
I’ll be sticking with roasted cauli with curries from now on it does go nicely, I like it rubbed with spices before roasting. I’ll try cauli rice with Chinese style meals next, not too hopeful though!Fingers crossed it’s easier with your Dh on board now Brie.Today breakfast was scrambled eggs and the 2 coffees and cream. It’s a cup of tea with milk kind of day so I’ve planned in 2 of those. Other meal: a small feta salad then chicken with buttery cabbage and courgettes, raspberries and cream for dessert.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025

I am frustratingly STS. Just general tiredness means I am struggling to plan meals in advance, meaning my choices aren't the best.6

Hi
Well done on sts Angelica123 especially when you’re so tired. I find it all too easy to reach for the quickest simplest thing when I’ve no energy and tired instead of what I’d planned.
Today was a grab and gobble breakfast- ready boiled egg, mini babybels and a couple of salami slices from the fridge. Found time for a coffee with cream though🙄. Out for a late-ish lunch at Thai restaurant- a fish cake and a satay chicken skewer for appetiser then the most delicious green chicken curry with 2 spoons of rice and a bit of a minced pork and basil dish. For afters I just ate the fruit bits / garnish from the shared desserts. I had 1 small glass of wine and lots of still water. Finished with an iced coffee with milk just because it was included in the set menu. I’d already had an iced americano with a dash of milk in *ucks earlier on so that’s been 3 coffees today. And not many vegetables.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025

Aldi have Cherries on the Super 6 offer, 99p, they are very nice... not Maltesers but still good.
Mr Pepper is on holiday for a week, will be going out for lunch and aiming for a local pub which does a good JP and beans which might help towards damage limitation for drinks in the hot tub.
Have a good weekend everyone.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Would it be possible to join in again? I have 9lb to lose by the 22nd September so will fit in beautifully with this thread. I lost my way a few times over the year, cutting back and then binge eating telling myself I needed a little treat but need to really clamp down again now as it is quietly spiraling out of control again. We are off on holiday on the 22nd Sept and we really deserve this break so want to do all I can to make me feel as comfortable as I can in a bikini (not a pretty sight
)
I did slimming world for a bit and lost about a stone or so but we have also had a change in financial circumstances so just need to eat sensibly but cheaply so I am looking for some great ideas and I am sure I will find them here. Feeling excited about starting again*Stop giving up what you really want for what you want now*
*Face your fear, don't do what's easy, do what is right, fight for it because it will be worth it*

Hi
Made me chuckle jennystarpepper (I love choc covered cherries)Hello It’s-time
I didn’t check in yesterday, it was chia pud, berries; salad and fish with veg; dessert was jelly. And later some bubbles, it was one of those mini bottles so more than a glass I think as it made me rather woozy headed.
Today was Greek yoghurt and berries for breakfast and coffee x 2. Other meal a takeout (power supply issues); 1 potato and 1 aubergine pakora followed by kachumber salad and tandoori and tikka chicken pieces. Jelly and cream for desert and a cup of tea with milk.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025
