Morning Turtles
Here’s my post for yesterday & I’ll post todays tonight!
Say no - Took ds to a kids party took our own tea making facilities to save paying out and made use of our campervan whilst we waited for him. It was rather pleasant and will definitely use it for this more often.Waste nothing - DH used my car (and fuel) to take ds to the golf range as easier to park not exactly a waste of fuel but was my fuel!! Made ds a milkshake to use up milk rather than throw it as date was up.
Identify stress - Called in for a pint (DH paid) on way home but only 1 but can’t claim an AF day. Meals weren’t great today either but will be better Monday- Friday
Me - Got my ironing done in the morning so not to come back to it in the evening. Having a cuppa in the camper made me smile today too.
Budget - Nothing spent so all good here.
Improve - Saved money by bringing stuff from home to make a drink.
Kick debt - Just keeping on track at the moment. Items on selling sites have watchers so that will help for money to ds party fund. Then once I hit £100 selling money will go towards debt.
Every spend analysis - Haven’t spent today
Remember - Gave a lift to ds friend as a good deed. DH work boots (hardly worn) decluttered & in charity bag.(decluttered 3/21). The rule in this house is if something new comes in, something old has to go. He had new boots issued in work.U - Am using up toiletries. Discovered I have far too many toiletries bags so will declutter a few into the charity bag.

Monday (the day so far)
Woke just before 6 am, had my pills and brushed my teeth, did my hour's mindfulness homework (at least I stayed awake all through the long exercise), gathered my thoughts for the day. DS2 messaged, asking about the divorce dates (again). Decided I must have a bag of paperwork missing (can't find my old diary or the big red accounts book) and know it's not long since I had them all. Made an effort to get downstairs before DS3 (he takes up the whole of the big couch and dumps anything (including his stuff) on my couch). had just moved the Beethoven box onto his couch and was looking for the 'missing' bag, when he came down. However he grabbed his laptop, fed the grand-chinchillas and went back upstairs.
No sign of the bag and checked all the boxes, then went back to my room, checked all the bags, boxes and files, climbed over the corner of the bed into the space by the window and cleared that out - found the accounts book and my diary. Pulled long dated tins out of various boxes to take to thee food bank - yes I could use them and may need them at some point but atm there are people in much greater need than me so will take them. There will also be some toothbrushes, toiletries and first aid items when I've gathered them together - I remember going to spend £20 - 30 before the school holidays in anticipation of all the accidents (skateboarding, falling out of trees or off hm sleds, trips, falls etc).
Hot and sweaty so had a shower, collected creams, clothes and pots/ recycling to go back to the kitchen. Thrown down a sack of paper, a small tied up carrier bag of rubbish, 2 cardboard boxes to be used as dividers for the records, my boots, another empty plastic bottle. Still to go back and collect the food cans, library books to return (closed on the 9th for a UEFA fans party and books are due back on the 10th, on the 8th there's a big one day display/ art event on the square) and carry on sorting the paper - Ds3 now wants to come back down here. Told him I'll be dressed in 10 minutes if he'll let me get ready and drink my drink in peace (2 more use ups to go in recycling). Going back upstairs now. Think I need a lie down
Grateful getting my mindfulness done early and completing the exercise, sorting more stuff to leave the house, going back to working through all the paperwork logically rather than trying to find random items.8 -
On my work jolly with 2 x NSD already this month and the reason I'm updating now is we have tech issues...
Had some bad-good news. A freelance work thing in September got cancelled - a bit of a relief as I'm not sure how much it would have generated and I need to be in the house in September to oversee the plastering if it happens, plus August is mega busy.
The money coming back from booking hotels will come in. I'll try not to loosen the budget too much this month, but it was quite tight.
Work jolly this weekend - lovely BBQ and I've used the hotel jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and pool. Just the ticket! I have certainly made the most! Then read my library book in bed before going to sleep. I'm reading Karin Slaughter False Witness.Keep reading books!

Todays update from me:
Say no - No spends today so haven’t said yes to anything I didn’t plan.
Waste nothing - Used my car to take dh to work as he’s on a business trip until Friday and preferred to leave his car at home. This isn’t a usual journey for me but he will save a weeks worth of fuel. Did waste food at teatime. Cooked far too much but will be mindful of this next time I make this meal. My phone usage was down 21% on previous week although shocked at how much time was wasted will reduce this from now on.
Identify stress - Work is a bit stressy but I organised my day so everything got looked at even if not completed and planned my workload loosely for the week. No alcohol so that’s 2/31 AF day. Meals have been ok today & I drank water throughout the day.
Me - Feeling a bit meh today as DH away. But I’ve worked from home & haven’t had to go anywhere after dropping him off. It’s what I needed today.
Budget - Ticking along nicely. A refund I was starting to worry about has been confirmed today. Tilly tallied bank to holiday fund.
Improve money saving - was going to put the washing machine on today but wasn’t many items so delayed it a day to put a full load on.
Kick debt - More watchers and some questions on bay of E items.
Every spend analysis- nothing here today as haven’t spent anything.
Remember worse off - nothing here today
Using up - using up toiletries still. Decluttered boxes of (out of date 2018) contact lenses. 4/31 itemsNSD 2/16

Today I am grateful for the time to go through all the text books I have and sort them according to their condition and replace the manky plastic covers, for a fab steel drums session with some kids, for dc enjoying youth group, for home grown blackcurrants, for my book.

Only spend today was on parking at the hospital, so a medical necessity
I only stayed for less than 15 mins (minutes payment is for an hour) so popped my ticket back into the machine in the hope someone else may be able to make use of it.
Listed another item on flebay to hopefully make the most of the fvf offerAlso listed 3 items on fb00k - will donate those and the flebay item if they don't sell.
Things that made me smile today- watching a video of a hedgehog 🦔 in a friend's garden, a lovely HCA at the hospital, DS2 moaning (but in a cheerful fashion) whilst I made him clean kitchen cupboards, pretty flowers in the garden.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -
Caravan day 3Woke before OH and DS as usual. Used the time to create a spreadsheet to do a supermarket price comparison on items I regularly buy. Filled in the Saneberries and Aldee columns and can see the latter would save a few quid. But I’m weighing up savings vs benefits. I like the convenience of my online shop and delivery to the door. Will sleep on it.DS and I headed to the forest with packed lunches today. OH was working from the caravan. We walked 2 trails - one which takes us past a loch, a large clover patch (yet to find a 4-leaf), and eventually to a cairn. The second route is a nature trail with lookouts for wildlife watching.Back to the caravan, cup of tea, and then round to the swing park where DS played with two other children he met.Spends£4 parking£5.20 coffee and hot chocolate£40 fuelGrateful today for time in the forest, for DS gaining more confidence in talking to other children, and for OH making dinner.

Evening
Had a lovely morning with DD2, I treated her to a coffee and we walked to a local park/lake, was a lovely haven in the city. We had a great chat too. Walked over 12k steps! Was sad to think this was the last ever uni drop off I'll do
Drove home at midday. DD1 was here as she was working locally and had stayed to feed the cats. I've paid for my next pilates course.
Gratitudes - lovely time with DD2; DD1 being strong by going to work and her exercise class; that my DDs talk to me about worries
nite all
