Have a lovely holiday, Ditty.
You can do it, Abundant. Lots of encouragement coming from me.
Congratulations to the offspring, Greent
And hugs to everyone else
Just over four miles yesterday, mostly uphill and my legs are certainly feeling it this morning. Slept like a log and have only just got up so I'm guessing it must have done me some good.
It was a beautiful day as it is this morning and I potted on some plants which were looking a bit congested. A lady told me yesterday that she had changed her route to and from the shops so that she could look at my display and a couple of the neighbours asked me how difficult and time consuming it was to look after them as they were thinking about doing the same. I felt really pleased that they were giving people pleasure and obviously doing a bit to improve the neighbourhood which, quite frankly, could do with a bit of civic pride at times.
The fridge is looking a bit congested as well. Himself has taken to eating puddings and it's full of strawberry trifles, mini cheesecakes, etc. Not very good for my diet but I've resisted the temptation (I didn't know I had that much willpower!!!!!). To make some room I chopped up all the bits of fruit and turned them into a fruit salad some of which I've just had for breakfast. It was lovely. Don't know why I didn't think of putting it all into one container before.
Right. So I'm off for a walk to visit the Boy (and tidy his flat!) and I'm a bit behind so I'll see you all tomorrow. Have a good day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Today my activities will mostly revolve around plums, and using up food that we have in the house, and making do with what we have.... I am going to be brave and do my passport renewal online ...... and in anticipation of a new month, I am going to do the cleaning and tidying of all the bedrooms and change their bedding. Something I know I can finish in one day.5 weeks of hols left!!!!Keeping my head down until payday on Friday.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Easy Peasy @Toni'sfriend - I only have 3 weeks left on my passport, but did not want to send it off in case I needed it for any legal business selling the house, but I just renewed it in all of 3 minutes on g0v.uk, you can do the photo on your phone and I emailed it to myself, downloaded it, and uploaded it, and it tells you if it is a bad/fair/good photo so you can choose whichever one makes them happiest. The most difficult part was taking a photo that did not have either a light switch or a shadow in the background. Whole job done in less than 10 minutes, then post your old passport back to them and they will process it when they receive it. They are claiming it can take up to 10 weeks, both digitally and wood-block forms, I will keep TurtleWatch and keep you informed. It was also £10 cheaper to do it online, plus no costs for passport photo booths.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Oooh that reminds me thanks @f0xh0les, my passport needs renewing in September so need to allocate some £££ from August to spread the cost!
- Sort of no unintentional spends today. Took DS for haircut and we go past the stupid uniform shop (I hate it)! So bought his jumpers from Christmas pot and will pay back on Monday from child benefit as I have 2 in August as it’s paid every 4 weeks. Wasn’t planning to do this but saves a trip into town next week (and fuel).Talking of fuel, I needed a splash to make it to Friday but I put the splash plus my amount I would put in on Friday to save going back. This will sit on my card until Friday but made sense to do this I think.
I also treated my DH to something he’s been hankering after this week - mint ice cream in a cone, premium brand on offer so used some of my £5.44 in my bank, now have £3.44 and a happy hubby!
- Don’t think of anything as wasted today.
- No alcohol so 11/31 alcohol free days so far. Healthyish day but ice cream spoilt it a bit. Work ok today but had to log back on this evening as something was niggling me but now sorted.
- Getting things done made me smile today.- Budgets all at their limit waiting refund from
bt to cover the splash of fuel and borrowed from Christmas pot to cover uniform until Monday. DS wants to go swimming tomorrow & we’ll take a trip to the bargains for homes for his new stationery. I have £20 cash from the holidays pot to cover it and if he wants anything over that he can contribute.- Used t£sco for fuel so will get points.
- Remembering others has been something I’ve not done as much as I should although I try and think of ‘have I done a good deed today instead’ and I can usually think of something. Today I gave DS barber a tip as I always do but I wish I never started this as I can’t face not doing it every time now!!!Not an NSD today so still 12/16.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Today I am grateful for dc coming to the gym with me, for finding a barbell + dumbbell + a few light weights in a ch shop for just a fiver, for fuel prices starting to drop a smidge, for getting more marking done (the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter at last), for a good conversation with dc about food, for not being affected by the train strike.
