Oh no @beanielou! Think it would be too! Luckily it's only been baby shrews, smaller than my thumb, so far. We need to put finer mesh at the bottom of the catio, to stop them getting through the chicken wire
NSD yesterday & today, so now on #12.
Wrote a long letter to go in a card & present for my best friend from school. Walked in the drizzle to post it, more coins & more survey items. Didn't help that if just taken my hood down as the drizzle had stopped & the local school janitor had the pressure washer out & I got a cloud of spray blown at me!!
Did a couple of sewing jobs, then used up a load of mushrooms in a pasta concoction for dinner today & tomorrow. Took myself & DS3 to the dentist, had a good chat (she'd been to a sewing class I'd taught a few years ago). Collected some firewood from a neighbour up the road, she also gave us some lovely uplighters (not allowed to sell electrical things in the charity shop she runs) & 4 boxes of cat food tons/sachets.
Prepped all the currants picked on Saturday, then did the ironing, followed by some crochet. If you're looking for something good to watch, I've just watched all 4 episodes of (Channel 5) Witness Number 3, brilliant!
Grateful for good programmes, kind neighbours, towels drying on the washing line this afternoonUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Back to the walking yesterday. Four miles. It was nice to walk in but the heavens opened after we got back so the Boys washing (of which there was quite a pile) has had to be dried indoors. I'll get it all ironed up later today.
Himself phoned his best friend yesterday as he was feeling a bit guilty that he hadn't seen him recently. Avoiding the pub has curtailed his social life (or what there was left of it) somewhat. It turns out that none of his friends have been out and about for various medical reasons all the result of a misspent youth (ie alcohol), I suspect.
So today's plan is another walk shortly and then a bit of a tidy and declutter. What an exciting life I lead!Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
Good Morning ⛅
Topic-de-jour: Knickers! Hmmm. Well as a gay man I don't feel overly qualified to answer - however - I feel some Bridget Jones style 'big knickers' that go over the stomach and hold everything in may be just the ticket! I've contemplated them myself before now when planning a night out haha.
Yesterday ended up being a spend day as bought some presents for my Mum's Birthday (partially budgeted for). Whilst spending anyway, I did a small top-up shop. Today should definitely be a NSD. Closed a credit card off. Have one with zero balance... Thinking do I keep that as my Emergency Fund? Have I the willpower not to spend on it if I have a dip in my mood again? The thought of just having £100 (all I have in my EF) terrifies me slightly! Maybe I will keep it... but keep the physical card at my Dads or something.
Struggling to get back into my routine so starting from scratch picking one 'habit' up at a time. Mindfulness first.
Have designed my new debt-sheet with squares I can colour in/cross off as a visual aid to debt clearing. Got all my CC debts listed with 0% interest rate end dates, balance, payment dates etc. Going to use the debt snowball method again and hit the smallest balance first and work my way up. All the end dates are pretty much the same.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Headspace - has been a life saver
2) My GP who is pretty amazing
3) My brother and his wife who have kept an eye on me this last week despite going through so much themselves
Have a lovely Tuesday everyone x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Grandmanerd, I am happy to re-hash last year's August challenge if that helps.

@abundant1972 I see more adverts for men's knickers on't telly these days than for ladies undies. My visitors have gone. Feeding 8 people three meals a day is not fun. I do not recommend. Our 'difficult' guest only managed to poison herself with gluten (we think) once, but it did involve actually physically removing things, that she had been told she should not eat, from her hand on a couple of occasions. No arguments were had.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Luckily it was a health food shop gluten free labelled snack item that poisoned her (we think), so we did not get the blame.Just relaxing today, being stress free, plan to do a pantry, fridge, and freezer inventory this afternoon so nothing gets wasted/spoilt and the healthy eating can start again. I made sure all the ice cream got eaten last night, and also a fellow volunteer has given me a huge bag of plums from their tree, so going to freeze some, bottle some, and stew the rest when I get bored of de-stoning them.My fruitbowl runneth over. All three of them. It is a nice problem to have, I am not complaining.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Afternoon Turtles. Just checking in whilst I wait for my car to be mended!
Yesterday afternoon it wouldn’t start, so phoned my breakdown company, told them what the fault was (starter motor) and waited, and waited, and waited…………
21 hours later they turned up and confirmed my diagnosis. Luckily the patrol man had a bigger stick than me and managed to give it a good whack and start it. I then had to drive to my local garage who very kindly said they would fix it this afternoon.
I then had to walk miles to my Dads and borrow his car to go to my 1st customer of the day 4 hours late! He had had a lovely time having a lay in and slobbing around in his pyjamas whilst eating cereal straight from the box. I think he was quite disappointed to see me!
Today I am grateful for my lovely local garage, my Dad having a car to lend me and the rain holding off while I was walking.

Afternoon all! Been busy here - 2 graduation ceremonies for my eldest 2 last week in different cities lovely, but a very tiring week as a result!
Baked bread today and Painted 2 more fence panels (well, 1 today and 1 on Sunday - it's tiring work and makes me dizzy painting the lower parts) (4 down, only another 25 or so to go......) - will attempt to get the ironing up straight now for the rest of the afternoon. No idea about dinner yet - fussy family!
Hot amd sweaty now - will change my clothes before ironing, as this lot are covered in fence paint.
