It was, @beanielou - DD's MA and DS1's BSc - both delayed from last year. Ds1 is now at home since end of June completing his dissertation for his Masters - due to be handed in at the end of Sept. We now have a breather on uni costs for a couple of years, as Ds2 is only just about to start VIth form - gives us time to replenish the uni pot! 😀 (thankfully!)😁😂I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £2010

Holding on tight & waiting for payday!!
- No spends today so nothing unintentional.
- Fuel wasted today on a short journey so ds could have extra time at his friends house. Flipping fuel light came on. It’s costing me roughly 25p a mile at the moment!
- No alcohol today & healthy day. Alcohol free days now 10/16. Work has calmed down and I caught up so no stress there.
- An easy day made me smile today.
- Budgets are all ok except I need to borrow £10 for fuel from somewhere as can’t wait until Friday.
- Received my BT bill & £31 in credit so have phoned and asked for it back. Will put to the grocery pot to boost that. Perhaps I should use £10 from that for fuel.
- A bag of charity clothes ready to be dropped off tomorrow.
- Unused, unopened toiletries also in charity bag.

In a parallel universe @BadBookkeeper, I have my fingers crossed not to have to fill up my car until Friday (3 bags of clothes recycling on the back seat) - it should be a double payday on Friday, and then expenses at the start of next month, and I am waiting on a £150 credit refund from the F0xyEnergyCo.Made mango lassi overnight oats, because there is nothing left in the house that resembles a breakfast cereal (midnight mice are at it again - great big 5' 11" ones) but there was a tin of mango pulp and some plain yoghurt in the fridge. Also accidentally made a ginger cake with a jar of ginger preserve nobody likes, lobbed into a sponge mix with no sugar - there is enough sugar in the jam. Made a nice cake. Never got around to processing the plums - keep eating them though!Nothing was bought in, so another NSD - def into double figures, mid/high teens depending on how you count them (expenses).5 days left of July lovely Turtles.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for finding out that dc can come to the gym with me for free in the school holidays, for finding a place and dates to stay up north that avoid the train strikes, for a good chat with big sis, for dc clearing out some books, for a good book.

Looks like my last couple of posts failed.
NSD 11 today. Been so busy. Back in the office tomorrow, so lunches are done, and overnight oats. Wonky frozen fruit has been topped up with free blackberries. The dry garden is sprouting rogue hot salad from last year's seeds.Keep reading books!
July grocery challenge START: £150.

@abundant1972 sounds like a good plan, good luck with it all - you CAN do this!
@f0xh0les glad you've survived your visitors, enjoy the peace & quiet now!
Well done to all the scholars 🎉
Today hasn't gone as expected. Awoke late, so no time for a walk before customers came to collect their sewing. Started to strim the garden, but the heaven's opened, so had to come inside. Did some paperwork & realised I'd forgotten about a dress needing a new zip for a wedding on Friday! Dashed into town to buy a copy, dropped my sewing machine off to get serviced, then headed mum's with my spare machine, replaced the zip, so she can take it to work tomorrow for it to be collected, then came home. Started a very fine hand sewing job, my eyes started to ache, so after tea when it had dried up outside, I resumed strimming. Got it all done, washed a mountain of dishes, packaged up another 2 eboy sales then went in the bath.
Grateful for my garden, happy customers, my sewing machine getting fixed & time with mum
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Morning
Achieved an NSD on Monday, didn't achieve anything else as crippled with a bad back. Phoned in sick to work and lay on the sofa watching nettyflicks. Had a phone consultation with GP and got a prescription for meds, also got an appointment with muscular skeletal service later this week.
Slightly less painful yesterday so did some wfh. Had a very short walk.
Congrats to graduates greent
DD2 rang me last night stressing about her dissertation, glad she'll be home next week.
gratitudes - plenty of food in the house; DD1 collecting my prescription; being able to wfh
love DeniLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

Had problems getting to log in to my morning mindfulness session (weak signal) but managed after about 20 minutes (lots of people having tech issues, not just me). Afternoon was art therapy, quite a few new people who then kept making connections. One of the new people had been someone else's high school teacher, several people had attended other sessions the course leaders had done in various places (and one person wants to set up further sessions working with the young homeless people) and the women on either side of me had attended computer courses and were now doing GCSE 'O' level Maths and English (having left school at 15 to work) one waiting for results, the other part way through.
In between I harvested my potatoes (only half a small bag full but no cost and no effort other than throwing them in the tubs as I was filling them with soil), brought in clean washing, took a bag of random items to the food bank, returned 5 library books, browsed in a couple of cs, picked up the only tube of antiseptic cream in the £ emporium + more ibuprofen, cancelled the recipe box subscription, took several bags of recycling to the bins, checked the bin schedule and noted it in my diary (several tasks were a result of locating my diary again).
Had been awake until late, used my mask to help stay awake during mindfulness and dozed (reading but on the edge of falling asleep) in the early evening and struggled to make myself get up to go and put the bins out. Collected the potato greenery and small dried branches to add to the green bin, took them to the collection point and was even slower getting back to my yard. Sat in the garden for ages just resting, listening and watching the light fade away - lots of mindfulness practice.
Grateful for art therapy, lots of chatter but not 'having to' join in (I like being in a group and letting the chat whirl round me but don't want the pressure of keeping a conversation going), chat with the mindfulness leader, a helpful non-pushy person handling the recipe box cancellation, sitting in the garden observing the changing light and the night sounds, letting the aches and pains recede, painkillers, hand gel, cheerful and welcoming food bank volunteers, thinking through how to tackle some tasks and working out next (baby) steps.
Yes apple a rehash of last August will be fine (although revisiting some key points, a reprise or even cook once, eat twice all sound a bit more positive and appetising). I'm in a very strange place and don't know what sort of thread I might produce atm (weird works sometimes).
I decided the day before yesterday to be happy. Need to work on it a bit but I will be happy and enjoy life as it is now (whatever that is - still in a well of uncertainty).12
