NST July 2022: A Turtle Triathlon

Last week was a bit of a wash out! It started well with a couple of good walks then the heatwave came and I did my back in so it all came to a halt. My weight hasn't altered either. Oh well, a new week starting today.
One pension hit the bank account yesterday so the budget is done for the next four weeks. It is a bit of a nuisance having things all coming in on different dates but it's all looking OK.
I awoke this morning to Himself in a bit of s state. He had had a text telling him he had been in contact with someone who had Covid and had to book a test which he had to pay for, of course. A total scam and luckily he didn't do anything without checking with me first but you do wonder how many people are taken in by these things. Hundreds, I suppose or the scammers wouldn't keep doing it. It's not just the fact that they are stealing money and bank details (which is bad enough) but the distress they cause to those who are vulnerable.
So, after the last few days of total inactivity I had better get on with the housework.

Toni'sfriend said:My weight hasn't altered either. You have not been walking, and your weight has not gone up. That is a win @Toni'sfriend .Just keep on doing what you are doing, and when you can get moving properly again, the weight will come off.I have nothing positive to say about housework though, but misery loves company so I will do mine in solidarity with you.

What a change in the weather so glad we were away last weekend and not this one!
- No spends today so nothing unintentional.
- Essential journeys in the car, prepared & ate my lunch & not been on my phone much so no fuel, food, time or money wasted today.- First day of diet. Didn’t weigh as much as I thought. Aiming for 3lb this 1st week. Alcohol free day so now 8/31. Caught up on work so less stressy.
- Going to see a friend tonight is making me smile today.
- Budgets all behaving.

Today I am grateful for a private tab allowing me to access my work, for fresh rasps, for next door's cat loving our garden, for my clematis producing a 2nd flower (a record for me!!!), for successful bleaching and initial dyeing of dc's hair.

I've had a lovely day. The sun has shone (22°c this afternoon). Went to town to collect a 40" TV for £5 for DS3 to use his xb0x on, as the current one keeps glitching. Dropped off & collected sewing, collected Mum then went shopping. Got a couple of bargains from a second hand furniture shop. Managed not to spend loads in the supermarkets, but still over budget for this month. Really noticed how much prices have shot up in the last week 😓 put shopping away, brought washing in off the line, then watched a film with DH & did some crochet. DH's phonecall with insurance company went well, so we're one step closer to our claim.
Grateful for a nice day with mum, time spent with DH, also the promise of a date night to the cinema when the film of the book I've just read is showing, taking dry washing off the line (I love pegging it out too)Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I'm determined to get back into the swing of things this week. I'll start with a walk through the park this morning and build up gradually in the coming days.
We're working our way through the freezers. Himself is using up his stash of random items from the bottom drawer although some of the more dodgy looking pieces have been disposed of in the bin. He's stopped collecting pickles and chutney but has now moved on to jam. Well, at least he's having that on toast for breakfast so it's not languishing in a cupboard.
Did the washing yesterday and it's all dried. Got a list as long as your arm of other chores, Thanks for the support f0xh0les.
It rained heavily all during the night and the temperature is now at a manageable level, Thank goodness,
Must get on. Have a good day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
The Last Leg
Remember those who are worse off than you - still volunteering 4 shifts a week down at the food bank - numbers are rising
Use up your toiletries - the good thing about this weather is that I am remembering to use all the solid block eco face serum samples and moisturisers I have collected, I am like a seal. To be honest I am surprised I don't just slide right out of bed some nights.
No Spend Days shall number 16. Well I have just counted up, and excluding all the days I had to spend in hotels and claim back meal allowances I am on 10 - if I do not count work expenses I am on 14.
There is so much food in the house I am going to have to sit on DH to stop him going off and buying enormous watermelon wedges that take up a whole fridge shelf.
Only 3 whole days of visitors left to go ... the excitement of possibly being paid this month ... there is still over a month of holidays left!

Evening Turtles. Another lovely warm day today, 2 loads of washing dry on the line. Usual Saturday afternoon walk with an ice cream. I live in the next town along from Dover so got caught up in the traffic chaos yesterday whilst trying to visit my customers. An hour to travel a mile, but I was entertained by an extremely expensive looking Bugatti in front of me that numerous people driving the other way (including the police and an ambulance) kept stopping and taking photos of.Naughty kitten is now disabled kitten after injuring his front paw so he won’t be a available for chaise longue pulling duty for now. Probably chasing the foxes again or falling out of a tree or something equally dramatic.
Today I am grateful for less traffic, a non dieting day (have to have one now and again!) and the athletics7 -

Today I am grateful for my back being a bit easier, for more rasps, for sunshine and a good book, for dc being happy with their hair (blue), for a quiet day.
