Evening fellow sweaty turtles
I achieved an NSD yesterday, had a tiring day WfH then went to my PT job in the evening. On the way home I saw black plumes of smoke and 15' flames - bookFace told me there was a fire at an industrial unit
Today I was out at 7am driving to FT job; was SOOOO glad our office has aircon; i put a cardi on at lunchtime !
Came home and jumped straight in the bath. Did have a small spend today on coffee sachets for work, petrol and paracetamol.
Thanks f0xh0les, i didn't know that about anti dep meds and have told my DD, she had seen it on bookFace but i never knew even though i've had those meds in the past.
Feel tired and drained from the heat and travel to work so off to bed soon

Today I am grateful for good coffee, for the paddling pool and shade to try to get cool, for dh going round the house multiple times hanging up wet pillow cases and spraying the curtains, for the aircon in the car (I had 2 appointments, so had to go out), for evening rainfall.

f0xh0les said:If anyone has someone in their life on anti-depressants, then tell them to be careful in this heat, as they are more prone to overheating and dehydration if they are taking SNRI / SRRI medication (that is Sertraline /Citalopram/Duloxetine / Fluoxetine / Mirtazapine and all the others). Keep out of the sun and keep drinking!6

Evening turtles,
Looking forward to it cooling down tonight! Anyways here’s my update:
- no spends today so nothing unintentional.
- Did waste a lot of time in work today looking for a difference before submitting our quarterly financial reports for end of quarter 2. The good/bad bit about working from home means you can keep going until you find it! Supposed to finish at 3 but just logged off. I now have an idea what it might be so will try that first thing tomorrow and try to have a productive day.
Also wasted a bit of fuel taking ds to his friends house as it was too hot to walk.
- Not reconciling the accounts on time made me stress today in work. Had 2 weak shandies so not an alcohol free day so still 6/31.
- A cool shower made me smile today
- Budgets all ok but will have a check over tomorrow
- Gave a lift to another parent to save walking in this heat was my good deed for today.
- I’m afraid I’ve binned a cheap hair serum I’ve been using as it left my hair feeling awful. Sometimes buy cheap is buy twice but at least I tried it.- NSD today. I think that’s 8/16.
- Didn’t get to my decluttering today, hope to catch up tomorrowLightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £150/£2605 -
I'm back after a few very busy/tiring days. Only had 4.5hrs sleep Saturday night - DS3 & friend went walkabout once me & DH had gone to bed, knew they'd not go far, but stated up to give them a good telling off! Then DS2 set the smoke alarm off at 3.30am, cooking, followed by 4.30 when the cat was chasing something in the bathroom!
Needless to say I was very tired for our hill hike. Had showers before & after the climb, plus fog at the top. It did clear very slightly to give us a glance of some of the other islands & Scotland. Took a picnic, but treated everyone to an ice cream before catching the boat home.
Very achy yesterday, walked to the post office, then rewound a bag of wool & put it in the shed, so one bag less in our bedroom. Trillions more still to sort! Took DS3 & a friend with her 2 youngest to bingo. I won 2 bath sheets, some toiletries & a hair mask. DS3 won a bottle of brandy, which he had to hand over to me, a set of books & a toddler's game. He gave the game to his friends little brother. A bit of s dispute over the brandy, said he couldn't have it as underage, so he said he was going to run away! DS1 went with him initially, but returned later on. DS3 slept amongst some trees (he was perfectly safe) & returned just before 2pm. Just trying to push his luck a bit with things! Wasn't overly worried about him sleeping out, as he's done it many times with DS1 as planned activities.
Walked with DH after breakfast, sold more coins each day this week. Did some sewing, then weeded a flower bed. Washed the dishes after tea, did the ironing then prepped another sewing job. Had s bath with my book.
Glad you're all doing ok & those away are having a good time
Grateful for living in a safe place, a lucky bingo win, great scenery, the sun putting in an appearance (19°c yesterday 😃) also I've not lost weight, but am 2" thinner around my waist
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Checking in early as want to do some decluttering this evening.
- No unintentional spends today but did have to pay for DS footy training so topped up his phone with his monthly payment. All budgeted for and transferred from relevant pots.- No fuel used today and DS has a lift to training so bonus there. Hardly used phone today except for work calls so no time wasted.
- No alcohol today so that’s 7/31. Food quite healthy and wearing a pair of trousers I thought would be too small. Looking after my sisters dog today so will be walking a couple of miles later. Work much better today but still behind hoping for a productive day tomorrow.
- DS getting a lift, Fitting into trousers made me smile today oh and being a bit cooler.
- Budgets as they should be. Might be short depending on fuel. I get paid a week on Friday and hoping a £15 top up will last until then.
- Coupon for a snack DS likes received in post so put in his wallet for him to use. Trying to share money saving habits.
- Uniform donated to local cafe for their uniform stall.Have decluttered/binned/donated/sold 44 items so completed the decluttering 31 items in July challenge. Not an NSD so still 8/16Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Today I am grateful for caring friends, for moving to the next stage in dc's orthodontic treatment, for awesome haircuts, for finding the right colour hair dyes for dc, for a friend coming over from Spain next month.

Evening turtles
Been very spendy today as had to renew car insurance. Got overwhelmed with choice and comparison sites but ended up with a HS bank for my exact budgetted figure. Went to my exercise class which was hard after missing classes for 3 weeks. Called at the c00p and got 2 loaves of YS sourdough bread so they are in the freezer.
Got washing dry on the line.
Collected book group read from the library, 10 days to read it but it is only 200 ish pages.
Gratitudes - the library, finishing work early, seeing DD1, DD2 and boyfr having a lovely time at a wedding in their colour matched outfits (pink!)

We're on the last leg, turtles!
3rd leg: July 21-31 The RUN
Off go the sprinters, the runners, the joggers and the plodders, and they keep going to the finish line. Everyone is a superhero when they cross that finish line. This is a time where every step is important, no matter how big or small it may seem. Every step takes us nearer the finish line.
Take time to look at how far you have come. Maybe play the percentage game – how much of a % have you paid off this month or in the last 6 months or in the last year? Would joining the 1% thread be useful for you?
MMM says: If you are one of the 99% of people who is forced to live with only a finite amount of money, you should probably give some thought to how that money is spent. You can buy things, like cars and mobile phone plans for your kids, or you can buy freedom, in the form of paying off your debts, saving most of what you earn, and soon being able to choose your own work schedule or even retire early.
