    Hello......
My husband (51) suffered a slight heart attack just over 4 years ago, has angina and is on medication. Last year his cheapest travel insurance quoted for a weeks holiday in Spain was £36 while the highest was £145 !!..
This year I came across https://www.direct-travel.co.uk.
They were not able to quote online due to my husbands health problems but suggested ringing them 01903 812345. Told the lady of all existing health problems and they quoted me for the one week holiday in Sept. £13!!
I was amazed!! I questioned her and asked had she made a mistake.....But no....They do not believe in loading insurances!!
Within 24 hours I had the policy documentation in my hands.
    What more can I say?
Surely they are worth a phone call.
I hope this will reassure holiday makers with pre existing medical problems that there are a few decent firms out there that understand.

    Please do ring them.

I've just had a quote from TMSM via the moneysupermarket, single trip for a family of 4 to Majorca 7-14th May 2005. £17.64 !!! :D
Cheaper, and the cover was better than that offered by Insure & Go and Atlas Direct.

Just a word of warning ......from my own experience with this company.
I ordered the travel insurance for a holiday this Sept. with them via moneysupermarket. They took payment and took payment AGAIN.....6 days later. I went to download the policy details from the emails they sent to my hotmail accounts. HOTMAIL detected that the attachements had viruses and so I couldnt download them.
Anyway....rang the company they apologised....They are supposed to have refunded the second premium taken by error.....which has yet to be proven.(Havent received my credit card statement) They did offer to send the original confirmation to a yahoo account instead....Nothing happened.

    So......I rang them up......cancelled everything!!
I thought to myself.." If I am having problems now....What on earth would happen if I ever had a claim?"

Its a shame though cause last year I bought travel insurance from the same website but from another company......and the service was excellent...

Have just been reading through previous posts have i too having been looking for single and annual family travel policies.I found e-sure to be very competitive at £30 for 8 days european cover for a family of 4.Also their excess for claims is only £35...i have seen some companies with much higher excesses for claims.Obviously this may not be suitable for all travellers but worth bearing in mind.

    TRY https://www.travel-insurance-web.com

its £15.50 for an eight day trip to Europe..........

    Can second the recommendation for

    http://www.travel-insurance-web.com

Annual Trip Insurance is £27 per person - within Europe and single trips are really cheap too. My 2 week trip to Canada was under £20 from memory.

However don't cover those with medical conditions or over 49s but do have links of sites which may be able to help.

Never claimed from this company (which is when you find out how good any insurance is) but have been using them for a couple of years with no problems.
  • For existing customers only, Egg is doing an offer for annual multi-trip travel insurance, Europe-only, for the whole family, for just £15!!!

    Offer ends 31 March.

No idea whether the policy will prove to be a good one but I have signed up in any case. My last one with Endsleigh just expired it cost £88, although I have to say they were great, they paid £600 no questions asked after I missed a flight back from San Francisco once.

it looks like I will need the EGG annual multitrip

and http://www.travel-insurance-web.com/ for the trip to the US

and my current home/contents with co-op incl cycle cover to£1500

    total about £40

though if I take a tumble in the US it could seriously test the insurance

but still doesn't cover the cycle in the US

Does anyone have any suggestions for someone with cancer and on medication?

    Thanks for any suggestions.
The only stupid question, is an unasked question ...
