hey guys!
its coming close to my turn to do the hong kong trip via BA that a lot of us took advantage of a while back!
the thing is, i'm also planning to visit japan also!
i want to stay 3 days at the wharney and then fly out to tokyo and kyoto for around 10 days before heading back to hong kong.
i'll be buying a ticket when i get out to hong kong as the exchange rate is great right now!
will i be needing 2 seperate insurance policies?0 -
As long as you get an insurance policy to cover the duration of your stay and it is a policy covering Asia or worldwide, then you will only need one policy.

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help???
My Dad is trying to get travel insurance for a trip they have planned for later in the year to Las Vegas and then onto a Caribbean Cruise - he has heart disease and has had for the past 10 years. So far he has been quoted anything from £450 to £2000 for insurance!!!! We have tried so many companies, some of whom won/t even insure him!
He has tried a couple of the companies mentioned on an earlier thread but £450 seems to be the cheapest - if anyone has any ideas for a cheaper quote We would be very grateful
Thanks

Get an annual travel insurance policy. Make sure it is worldwide though! It seems Ryanair are offering a very competitive annual policy at present, including a couple of free flights (I think). Have a look at their website."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can obtain travel insurance that will provide cover for hurricanes & tropical storms?
Off to Florida in August and don't want a repeat of last year!
Single trip cover for a couple required.
Thanks in advance.

Esure and 121 Healthcare both cover against eventualities caused by hurricane.
Be aware that since new regulations issued by the FSA an insurance broker cannot issue you with travel insurance unless they are a member of the FSA. If you are buying travel insurance from a travel agent, you have to have booked your holiday with them. They are no longer able to sell insurance as a stand alone item.

I'm afraid I can't help but just thought I'd bump this up. I sympathise with your Dad's problem getting insuranace as my parents (particularly my Mum) have the same problem.
My mum has angina amongst other things, and my Dad has very high blood pressure. Despite ringing around absolutely everyone and looking on the net, they cannot find anyone who will insure them outside of Europe. And the one's that will insure them within Europe will stop as soon as they get to 65 (they are currently 60 and 61).
I'm getting married in Finland in Feb 2006 and obviously want my parents there. My dad is thinking he will hopefully find insurance, but my Mum can't at the moment. So she won't be able to come :-(
If anyone has any companies to recommend or any good ideas, I'd be really keen to hear them.
Thanks very much in advance.0 -
I had a stroke 3 years ago. I have a home policy with direct line, and i phoned them re. annual travel insurance. I got it for just over 70 quid, and thats worldwide. They just go thru a lot of medical questions on the phone and you get a disclaimer in the pack with the policy, so i for example would not be covred in the event of further strokes or blood clotting related illness.
Hope this helps.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Ring Norwich Union - we rang everyone and was quoted crazy prices, and my dad was getting very upset. Last year we went on a family hol to the USA, and it looked like a repeat visit this year was not going to be possible as he couldn't get insurance. He had a heart attack 2 years ago and is 67 yrs, Norwich Union were happy to give an annual insurance to cover the States at a very reasonable price. We checked and checked and re-checked thinking they have got something wrong, but they sent us their policy and confirmed again and again all in order and great result - it has done wonders for my fathers ego, and he is currently in the caribbean

My mother had the same problem, she has angina and has had a quadruple bypass, but eventually found insurance through their credit card which was with Nat West. She has had a couple of problems whilst being away on holiday and they have been superb. Whether they do a stand alone insurance Im not sure.
